Conor Garland an absolute keeper. Good |
Funny how everyone complained every year about his 4.5M before lol He's going to be 36 when this ends... great player for us tho |

It was fucking bizarre. |
I always considered him the real prize in the OEL trade. Just a shame that OEL had to be bought out, which makes the overall trade shit. |
The real shit sandwich in the OEL trade was losing the 9th overall pick in the 2021 draft which turned into Dylan Guenther who's quickly turning into a stud... 60pts in 70 games last year |

Dude Garland literally changed agents 2.5 years ago to facilitate trading HIMSELF off the team let alone him being a plug on the 3rd and 4th lines under all the coaches before Tocchet. That's why his perception was so bad before. |
Even at that time though he was still putting up great numbers relative to his ice time. Think he wanted out because before Toch came it seemed like there wouldn’t be a spot for him. But yea, I forgot about that period where he wanted out |
https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...ing-agreement/ Extension of CBA between the league and the player's union. As I mentioned in a previous post, the new CBA includes expansion of the regular season from 82 to 84 games. Pre-season games are reduced from six to eight games to four games. We will see a playoff salary cap. Teams like Vegas and Tampa Bay cannot play players that were on LTIR into post season games haha. It's about time that we have a salary cap for the post-season. |
Hmm. -rumour about the Canucks wanting to do a blockbuster trade: A trade to get rid of Petey? Canucks could be looking at a blockbuster trade [emoji102][emoji599] According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Canucks have reached out to the New York Islanders in regards to Mat Barzal[emoji845] Pagnotta isn’t the only person to discuss the Canucks potentially going after Barzal, either. Jeff Marek also discussed the idea with Greg Wyshynski on The Sheet with Jeff Marek podcast[emoji599] Would you want to see Barzal in Vancouver? The Official 2025/2026 Canucks & NHL Thread Canucks draft centre Braeden Cootes from the Seattle Thunderbirds. The kid already has leadership experience as team captain in different levels of hockey. -possibly a future Canucks captain. -so glad that Vancouver did not draft another Swede haha. I like this draft pick. Irish Canadian player. -from Sportsnet: The team selected the six-foot, 185-pound centre 15th overall in the 2025 NHL Draft on Friday night. Right hand shot. Cootes, 18, plays for the WHL’s Seattle Thunderbirds, where he serves as team captain. He is the youngest captain in the league. The Sherwood Park, Alberta native tallied 63 points (26 goals and 37 assists) in 60 games last season, then added eight points (two goals and six assists) in six playoff games. Cootes also served as Team Canada's captain at the 2025 U18 IIHF World Junior Championship, leading the country to a gold medal with six goals and six assists in seven games. Cootes is also the first Canadian player the Canucks have drafted in the first round since 2014 Welcome to BC, Braeden. BC is coming to BC! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a25e36b5da.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Yey we got a Braeden :alonehappy: |
Damn, didn't expect that to get emotional. |

Barzal has a 22 team no trade list. That is super high. Surprising vancouver is not on there. So I guess there is a chance he can come home. Hopefully sooner than later. |

I'd be ok with Barzal coming here but would worry about his longevity and injury history. Dude has only played a full 82 twice in his career ('17-'18 and '18-'19). $9.15M cap hit for a RH Center isn't super bad. Might like the deal depending on what's coming back besides just him. But also, he's only ever averaged about 60-85 pts in a season. More of a 2C. Top down scoring is already an issue for us. |
Sharks drafted a giant Chinese defenceman in the second draft. 33rd pick Simon Wang. A 17 year old defenceman at 6 foot 6 and 215 pounds. https://www.nhl.com/news/san-jose-sh...hl-china-games Big Wang haha. -picture of Wang and his Mom Willa: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...fd22688f2f.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Why is San Jose ordering something from Temu/AliExpress? j/k, good luck to the kid and hope he lives out his dream and gets an NHL roster spot ... not like other players that become perennial AHL players. |
