First PP they scored. That was with Sherwood on. After that coach decided to put Kane on for PP for some reason and took Sherwood off.

Yah and then Garland replaced Kane on some of the later ones.

Petey really needed to score on that one he was all alone in the slot. Incredible save by the goalie but he WAS sliding the wrong way and Petey had the entire top left corner to shoot at and went low pad.

They'll win a championship before the Canucks will lol

In PWHL, the Vancouver Goldeneyes won their first ever game, season opener 4-3 over Seattle in OT. Bravo!

I watched it.. glad they won. Don’t think I’ll be going out of my way to watch most games during the regular season. Playoffs might be different.

their season is only 30 games and they play once every 3 to 7 days.

maybe in between canucks games if they happen to play, i'll leave it on in the background

I think I'm also in the "happy for them but not particularly interested in watching" crowd

We're taking the kids to a game next month.

I believe Vancouver are the betting favorites to win it all at least that's what they said on 640 the other day when they were interviewing the coach.

At this point, I rather have the Canucks on the background. Gets tough watching this garbage and thinking they deserve fans, nevermind increased ticket prices year after year.

According to several sources, the Vancouver Canucks have let it be known that — in an effort to get younger — they are willing to listen to offers on “veteran players.”

The obvious question is: Does this mean Quinn Hughes? I’m told the answer is no, at this time.


“They’ve made it clear (trading him) is not their priority right now,” one executive said. (Filip Hronek is another player teams feel is unlikely to go anywhere.)

What it does appear to mean is potential UFAs and potentially a player or two with term, but the Canucks have also indicated they do not desire to tear it right down to the studs.

This action is noteworthy because of Jim Rutherford’s track record. Historically, once he decides to act, he does not wait. His resume is full of moves consummated well before the trade deadline.

Now, he and GM Patrik Allvin want to know what could be available to them.

^ this is a new insight for the Canucks mgmt (wanting to get younger) just a couple of days ago.

I didn't necessarily think Reichel was going to light it up when he came here... but man I have not seen a player so snake-bitten in a long time.

I've lost count how many sure goals he should have had and how many times he's been the 3rd assist.

They shouldn't have gotten Reichel and Kampf to begin with.

Again Canucks are stuck between a rock and a hard place. EP40, Boeser, Hughes are the only "core" players left.

If Hughes goes... does EP40 request a trade? Afterall, he did say back in 2021 that he wants to play for a "winning" team that goes deep in the playoffs every year. Like that will happen anytime soon.... if he stays maybe near the end of his contract he might see some playoff games.

Loool, at this rate, QH will need to play center, defence, and goal.

Sherwood is in a contract year. Garland and Sherwood have no trade protection in their contracts.

Who thinks that Allvin will trade either Sherwood or Garland or both veteran players this season?
