The return was expected as Hughes wasn't going to sign an extension anywhere he was being traded. We are getting back good young talent. Don't get me wrong, you will never replace Hughes and it sucks it ended this way. Unfortunately he was looking checked out for awhile and the writing was on the wall that he wanted out.

Fixed that for you. In terms of talent, the only player comparable is Bure. Hughes is a generational defensive talent and the Canucks squandered it.
