If you think addicts do what they do because they "like" it, I don't think you know any addicts.

BTW his brother died last month apparently. Pretty obvious way to trigger a relapse.

Feel really bad for the guy, but yeah I don't know if he'll be given yet another chance. If the drug in question is just weed though, they really should just allow it. I think they will after the next CBA.

Trust me on this one, I know addicts very well. They leave a wake of damage and hurt with no care about anyone else only feeding that addiction. I could go into details if you like but my sister would have been 40 years old on November 22nd but instead she's dead with one kid that misses her everyday and another that was so young he'll never know his mother and two parents who two years later are still grieving everyday.

Saying all that I understand it's a sickness but given the opportunities and talents he had making excuses for him is silly. At the end of the day we're all responsible for our actions.

So you've dealt with it.. just saying maybe think about your wording a bit. I don't think she "liked" what she was doing very much. I grew up with a family of addicts, myself included, and believe me none of us "like" what we did/do.

No idea what this guy's actual problems are, so I guess we can't say much. Not to compare substances, but I don't even know what a hardcore weed addict would be like in terms of destructiveness. Seems to me that he'd only really be harming himself, which I guess is why he continues to get support and more chances. If he was into pills it might be different.

Also lots of information about Tom Coughlin came out this week, and he got shitcanned. He was fining players for the smallest things (like sitting on the bench) and he made up like 25% of all player grievances to the NFLPA. What a cunt!

Sunday's game of the 49ers vs. Seahawks is gonna be a very interesting game to watch. Seattle is coming off a loss. They will get an emotional lift with Beast Mode playing in the game.

Richard Sherman's return to Seattle is also something to look foward on Sunday. The biggest question is whether Marshawn will play at a level close to what we have seen him play in his career with SEA.

I don't think Lynch is washed up. He will show some signs of rust in his game after being away from the NFL for so long. 1505 games since his last game with Seattle. Can he come back to play at a high level? Seahawks' injuries at running back are so bad now. They need Beast Mode to play at an elite level again.

I am cheering for Seattle on Sunday. One of my co-workers is a huge fan of the 49ers. He hates Seattle because he hates Russell Wilson and coach Carroll. -says that Pete Carroll's gum chewing reminds him of a cow. :lawl:

He calls the Seahawks "sea chickens'. :lawl:

If Seattle beats the 49ers on Sunday, I can troll him at work in the new year. :lawl:

I agree, I really dislike Pete Carrol and I'm never going to root for the Seahawks but Russell Wilson is amazing to watch from a fans perspective.

I'm not a Lynch fan at all either, the way he treats the media is ridiculous considering the amount of money the NFL has made him over his career. Most players don't like talking to the media but they sack up and act professional not like a pubescent man child. Imagine if every player in the NFL treated the media like he does? We'd get some real insight from the player interviews.

They can sign him but he won't be playing anytime soon. He'll most likely be suspended once the NFL finishes their investigation no telling how many games. Why any team would want this guy on their roster is a mystery to me, he's like that spec of shit in a tub of ice cream ruins the entire tub or in this case team. I kind of hope they do sign him, Peyton is a piece of shit so they might be a good fit together. but more likely than not he'll torch that locker room from the inside out.

What a game between the Seahawks and 49ers!

It is too bad that Seattle had that delay of game penalty. It would have been an easy TD run for Marshawn from the 49ers 1 yard line.

Imagine what an ending that would have been had Marshawn won it for them. Damn! They should have run something anyway instead of spiking it as well.

That no call on the PI was bullshit, and no review was even more bullshit. They kind of got robbed on that

Seahawks came out so flat in the first half, despite all the hype all week. Much better offense in the second but 49ers were pretty much scoring at will on them. That late hit penalty was kind of a fluky gift and it would have been so "Seahawks at Home" for them to win based on that, but the no PI call was way worse and basically decided the game.

If I was going to sign him Id pay him his 30 he wants but only on the condition he loses 1 million per interception. Obviously im half joking but seriosly he makes way to nany dumb decisions I would not want him on my team. I mean Favre was a gunslinger difference is he found ways to win most times despite the turn overs. So many games for the Bucs have ended on a Winston pick.

Steelers might not be a bad landing spot for Rivers if Ben retires, gives them some time to find another QB. I did read the other day that the Colts were interested in Rivers but that doesn't make sense to me, Brissett is a decent QB and he is signed next year.

I'm happy to see Tannehill making the most of his opportunities in Tennessee, I think he somewhat got the raw deal in Miami on a terribly coached team with no talent.

Derek Henry is insane, more beastly than Beast Mode. Dude just seems to be running in slow motion since he's so much bigger than everyone else. Any time the Titans tried anything else, they could barely move the ball.

Never, ever underestimate a heart of a six time Superbowl champion! I agree with Tony Romo. UFA Tom Brady will come back for another season with the Patriots. His Hall of Fame of career is not over. He will come back very, very motivated to prove the doubters and haters wrong.

If Brady does make a decision to retire, based on offensive coordinator Josh McDaniel's decision to take a head coaching job elsewhere, that is A-Okay.

The G.O.A.T. earned his right to make a decision to retire with 6 championship rings, four time Superbowl MVPs, and multiple NFL records.

My picks for the teams that can go to the Superbowl are the Chiefs, 49ers, or Saints.

Lamar Jackson and his Ravens team mates are not running to Miami to play in the Superbowl. :troll:

SkinnyPupp

Brady definitely hasn't had the help he needed, but he also looked pretty bad at times, something that has significantly changed even compared to a year ago. Add another off season to that... I mean if anyone can do it, he can. But the Pats haven't looked like a normal team with a normal QB in as long as I can remember, but they sure have for the second half of this year. If anything, he will sign with another team if he thinks they give him a better chance at winning.

Go ahead pick against the Ravens, I wish more people would. I am so not used to my teams being the favourite (especially by this margin) to win games, let alone championships.

I will say I was really scared of them having to face the Bills, and I'm glad that's out of the picture. I do fear Henry, but I think they have a chance to contain him. The only major weakness of the Ravens defensively is against wide runs, and that's definitely not what the Titans do.

Also the Titans may have to put up more than 40 to win, and I don't think you can do that by running all day. I mean he ran for nearly 200 yards today, for 14 points total, so...

Not enough to change the call on the field, even though they made penalties reviewable this year there have been a ton that have been challenged and very few like maybe a couple blatant ones all season that have actually been reversed and although there was a bit of a push off honestly nothing more than you see on every play. The hold/PI that NO got away with in the first quarter against he Vikings that was almost picked was way worse, that was not reviewed or challenged.

I mean if you want to break it down you can call a penalty on every single play in an NFL game, a hold, a PI whatever.

Actually looking at it again the defensive player was actually holding on and never turned around to play ball its not PI at the best of times.

SkinnyPupp
01-06-2020, 02:47 AM
Saints just had every close or lucky call go the other way. Almost seems like the team is cursed! Good for Vikings fans though. Thielen went from goat to GOAT. Fun as hell game.

Shame Wentz went out early like that. The hit sure looks suspect from certain angles, but I'm not the one who decides that. Clowney wasn't ejected or penalized for it, but they'll look at whether they should suspend him or not.

https://streamable.com/it1s4

In super slow-motion, y ou can argue that he intentionally drove his head towards Wentz's head. But who knows, maybe he was just going for the ball and it just looked like that. I have to give players like this the benefit of doubt. If it was Burfict, that would be another story.

DK Metcalf is going to be a megastar for the Seahawks. Next Megatron?

Drew Brees looked old for the first time all season

What a crazy wild card weekend! Brady legacy is OVER and the #1 or #2 threat in NFC is GONE.

Q: do you know how much analysts make? I wonder if it is in the millions ... sure is a helluva cushier job than the 100hr/week as an NFL coach. But then, to each his own ... no one has ever gotten accolades as the analyst who did the Superbowl game ... but if you coached a team to Superbowl ... you get legend status in Dallas.

Edit - just looked it up, Romo gets paid $4m/yr ... and probably going to get a raise next year.

Yeah, probably similar to a decent head coach. He's made a lot of money over his career so probably not the motivation.

I just think how tough would it be to be a Coach under Jerry Jones? He's always getting involved, he publicly criticizes his coaches and his players can you imagine what happens behind closed doors? Also if your coaching there you don't even have a qualified GM you have Jerry.

SkinnyPupp
01-06-2020, 03:33 PM
Romo has quickly become the best analyst since Madden. Networks are going to fight over him once this contract is up, and he'll probably make 3-4X what he's making now.

McCarthy always claimed his GM wasn't involved enough, and he basically had Rodgers and 52 other guys. Well now he has a group of very talented but underperforming players. Actually Jerry did a great job of putting this team together, he just needed to stop meddling from there.

When peak meets valley is when upsets like this happen. Just too clumsy in the first quarter and half, with drops, strips, bad penalties. Ingram trying to play hurt, then they just abandon the run instead of trying to ride the Gus Bus. Lamar constantly trying to take what's not there, instead of going with the flow like he's done all season.

Nope, I didn't pick up on that since I'm a football fan first and foremost, and will follow the most exciting teams and storylines if my team is out.

I watch 4-5 games a week every week, and absolutely love the sport. I have my #1 and #2 teams that I love, as well and a few others that I follow more closely. Also anyone who plays against the Patriots.

I will follow every playoff game closely, cheering for the Seahawks as long as they're in it, as well cheer for any other team that has something for me to cheer for. That includes wanting to see Andy Reid finally win it all. Or Derrick Henry just running over everyone and carrying the Titans to victory. Or hell even the Texans - seeing Watson being the freak athlete that he is, just willing his team to win at times has been so fun to watch. Just the fact that the 3 last teams in the AFC combine for 1 Super Bowl victory (and that was like 50 years ago) is actually very cool to see.

The only teams I will never cheer for this year are the Packers.

Poke fun all you want, I'll still be enjoying the playoffs. I don't base my enjoyment on being a fan of a team that has everything going their way for decades LUL

I don't think so, I think it was close and I'm not even sure he got the first down but because they gave it to him there wasn't enough evidence to reverse it.

If they would have marked him short would have been the same, there were no really good angles that showed where his elbow/knee touched and where the ball was at the same time.

They made the right call considering the call on the field.

That all said Packers would have went for it on 4th and inches if short and most likely got it.

As long as the Packers don't win the Superbowl I'll be happy. I'd like to see Titans vs Niners with the Titans winning it.
I'm with you, but again the Titans are going to need to score at least 40 on the Chiefs :heckno:

I'll have to do some research; how is Chiefs running D? Ravens handled Henry up the middle as expected, but as soon as he got to the outside, nobody could stop him.

I'll be happy with a Titans SB, or a Chiefs SB. I'll be fine with a 49ers SB. Just fucking anyone but the Packers PLEASE.

Yeah it shows how rare it is for a QB to be good in all aspects

I knew Brees lost his arm a bit this year, but I didn't realize it was to such an extent! Practically no long passes at all, but relies on hitting Thomas on the go, where he goes an extra 5-10 yards every catch lol

Bears HAVE to give up on Trubisky, right? Another attempt at a year with him would be a disaster

Conference finals weren't very exciting, but the Super Bowl should be, with two of the best teams of the season facing off SeemsGood

Titans did well at first, but they thought in order to keep up with Chiefs offense, they had to rely on Tannehill passing instead of riding Henry... It seemed like they played more pure passing plays than they have all season, abandoning the play action that had done so well for them during their run. They had Henry ran up the middle each time, instead of doing what worked for them against the Ravens and Patriots, going more to the perimeter.

And Chiefs offense is just "inevitable". Which I normally don't like, but Chiefs fans deserve a really good team after being one of the originals and only having one SB appearance 50 years. CBS said they score 50% of the time when starting from behind the 10 yard line. Like wtf?

Then Rodgers just got exposed, so that was great to see. I wonder if Packers fans will go after his coach again? LUL

This season’s Super Bowl should be a great one but I personally hoped Rodgers would make it despite not being much of a GB fan. Mainly for that old school vet vs. hotshot youngster QB storyline.

That said, Kelce vs. Kittle will be fun to watch also.

This matchup should make for a much better show than last year’s snooze fest anyway..

Mahomey put his team in his back to bring them back in the fourth quarter.

Mahomes throw to Sammy Watkins made Richard Sherman look bad. The big mouth did not do his job well today. :lawl:

The 49ers defence crumbled in the last 6 minutes of the game. Mahomey’s 44 yard pass to Tyreek Hill was huge. Hill was wide open like 7-11. :lawl:

Earl Thomas getting freaky with his brother and two randos till his wife shows up with a gun.

https://www.tmz.com/2020/05/06/earl-thomas-wife-arrested-gun-baltimore-ravens-star-cheating-allegations/

NFL star Earl Thomas is lucky to be alive after cops say his wife held a loaded gun less than a foot from his head ... after she allegedly caught him cheating with another woman.

It's all spelled out in court documents obtained by TMZ Sports ... detailing a violent April 13 altercation involving the Baltimore Ravens player, Nina Thomas and several other people.

The Austin Police Dept. responded to a home in the Austin, Texas area at 3:41 AM after getting a call about a disturbance.

When cops arrived, they say "we observed that a black female wearing an orange sweater with a knife in her hand, later identified as Nina Thomas, was chasing a shirtless black male, later identified as Earl Thomas, with a pistol in his hand around a vehicle."

Cops drew their weapons and ordered both Nina and Earl to the ground -- and they complied without incident. That's when the investigation began and things got WILD.

Here's Nina's story, according to court docs ...

Nina claims Earl, 30, left their home earlier in the day after an argument over the NFL player's drinking. She claims Earl's brother, Seth Thomas, picked him up.

But, a short time later, she decided to check on his whereabouts by logging into his Snapchat account -- and that's when she says she found video of Earl with another woman.

Nina says she used Earl's Snapchat account to track his location to a nearby Airbnb rental home ... and says she called up two other women to help her confront Earl at the pad. Nina also claims she grabbed Earl's pistol, a 9mm Berreta, in the process with the intention to "scare him."

When the women arrived at the house, they "discovered Earl and Seth naked in bed with other women."

That's when Nina admits she pulled out the gun and put it to Earl's head -- stating "that she took out the magazine thinking that the gun could not fire." But, cops say Nina was "unaware that the gun had a round in the chamber."

Cops say one of the women in the house shot cell phone video of the incident ... which they say shows Nina pointing the gun at Earl's head "from less than a foot away and it can clearly be seen that Nina's finger was on the trigger and the safety is disengaged."

Fortunately for Earl, cops say the Ravens defensive back was able to wrestle the gun away from her.

Cops say the cell phone video also shows Nina striking Earl in the nose before it ends.

Cops also spoke with Earl, who essentially corroborated the story ... adding that Nina repeatedly hit him while he attempted to take the firearm away.

In an interview with Earl's alleged mistress at the scene, she claimed Nina also threatened her and the other woman in the house -- pointing the gun at them and yelling "I got something for all you hoes!"

The woman claims one of Nina's other friends was carrying a knife and swinging it aggressively during the altercation as well.

After speaking with everyone, cops ultimately arrested Nina and both members of her posse. Nina was booked for burglary of a residence with intent to commit aggravated assault with a deadly weapon -- family violence, and later bonded out.

Fifteen women who worked for Washington's NFL Team allege sexual harassment by former scouts and members of owner Daniel Snyder’s inner circle (https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2020/07/16/redskins-sexual-harassment-larry-michael-alex-santos/)

Snyder using the name change to try to obscure the story

He hasn't been directly implicated, but there's no way he isn't involved, considering how long it went on and who has been named.

Washington fans have been wishing for him to sell the team for years now, for many other reasons. Hopefully this leads to that and they can get a proper owner in place who will not enable this disgusting culture to continue.

Rookie RB Dobbins was really good as well, and their acquisitions on D made huge plays on the very first drive, stuffing a run, blocking a pass, then forcing a pick.

And for the Seahawks it looks like they are moving away from the run heavy for 95% of the game, then let Russ do his magic for the last 5 minutes... Instead, they are going pass heavy with Russ, and going for it on 4th. I hope they can keep this up

I knew something big must have happened if this thread got updated by someone other than me on Sunday.. And yeah seeing Dak hurt like that, so sad to see. Season ending injury on a franchise tag year is brutal.

Considering we saw Alex Smith play today, and Teddy Bridgewater last year, that gives hope that he can recover from this and make a comeback. If you google the pictures of Smith's leg, you wouldn't believe that he'd ever walk again, let alone play football

Some good games today though. I started with Ravens vs Bengals, and Ravens kept them shut out until a garbage FG with 30 seconds left. Lamar didn't run the ball AT ALL this game, which makes me wonder if he's hurt, or they are using the Bungles as a farm team to work on his passing game which needs more development. Weird game. Bungles offensive line is SO BAD. The only worse team I can think of was the Redskins a few seasons ago.

Then I got to enjoy the end of Raiders vs Chiefs. I've been following the Raiders this year and they have been so fun to watch develop as a team. Not the most exciting offense, but I just really like the culture of the team. This win meant so much to them, and it wasn't even a close win. Mahomes' biggest loss ever, first time losing by >7. I don't hate on the Chiefs, but I need them to lose a few games for the Ravens to have a chance at the bye.

Then it was the Browns vs Colts, another fun game. Brownies are a fun team to follow, I just feel so bad for their fans and I love it when they're competitive. Stefanski is now 4-1 as their head coach, so he has more wins in 5 games than Hue Jackson had in 40. :fulloffuck: Division rivalries are such a fun part of NFL, but if 2 of the teams are garbage it kind of sucks. So now we have 1 trash team, but 1 good team and 2 great teams. I wonder if the Colts are regretting signing Rivers now? So many bad picks and just a shitty intentional grounding for the safety FailFish

Then we have Seattle having to go 94 yards in the rain in 2 minutes to win, and for some reason I just didn't have any doubts they'd do it. I raved about Metcalf last year, I think I said he was a future star.. Well now we're seeing it. Future MEGASTAR, like MEGATRON level or pre-insane AB. Sucks that Seattle looked so bad for like 90% of the game, but as often happens, they do just enough to pull it out at the very end. Go figure. 5-0 for their first time in history! PogChamp

https://twitter.com/SharpFootball/status/1319780592641343489

I don't see it working out great, even if he doesn't have another meltdown. TB is not much more than a (really good) game manager anymore, although they destroyed the Packers on Sunday so who knows. Mike Evans isn't exactly working great with him, except short throws right at the goal line. Gronk finally had a good game but he still looks like a giant reanimated corpse out there.

It'll be entertaining that's for sure. The Bucs are a very entertaining team with an amazing defense.

Yeah Lamar had a really bad game... 3 interceptions and iirc a fumble, including a pick 6 on the second play of the game. Sometimes it's easy to forget they he's only in his "2.5th season" as this was his 38th start, because of the dominance last season, but he's still not a fully developed QB. Still had some insane plays and the Ravens dominated them for the most part, especially on D. Ravens gave away at least 14 points and the win. The game on Thanksgiving night will be insane!

Losing Stanley will be huge

This is where you'd expect me to make fun of the Patriots, but they are irrelevant now

BTW how about DK again, what a game! Next Megatron? Seriously considering getting a DK jersey

Edit ... OK, not today I guess.

SkinnyPupp
11-08-2020, 06:09 PM
Not today lol.. Seattle's defense is tragically bad. Worse in the league in passing and rushing IIRC

How about Miami though! Are they for real? Tua looks legit

Ravens offense looked like 2 different teams today. Couldn't do ANYTHING before the half... Nothing but punts, and Colts D looked as legit as any I've seen this year, especially Darius Leonard. People talk about Wagner and Warner but Leonard has to be up there as one of the best LBs out there.

Defense kept them in it, with a fumble recovery TD and just keeping them to 10 points

Still they were down at the half, which they haven't won such a game in the last 20 in a row

But then they flipped a switch at the half and were just a different team. Lamar had swagger, and even when they fumbled on a run at the goal line, the D bailed them out again with an interception on the next drive. Colts could still do nothing on offense.

I wasn't expecting a win, with most of the D core on the Covid quarantine, including top DB Humphery testing positive. LJ Fort out with injury, and Calais Campbell got injured early.

Crazy how bad they were in the first half, but equally crazy how good they were in second :fulloffuck: I need someone smarter than me to figure out how this happened LUL

I wish I'd watched the Bills/Cards game instead of Seahawks. Seahawks D just plays like they have no interest in winning, with the exception of Jamal Adams. Everyone else looks lazy. And how about the offense ignoring Metcalf for 80% of the game? Sure he's up against Ramsey but come on FailFish 3 targets I think? Maybe 4

And Hopkins is insane! He caught that being covered by FOUR defenders! An all time great catch :fulloffuck:

I don't see how Bill O'Brien could show his face in the NFL ever again after that trade.

Hey Skinnypup, your team has problems winning games in rainy weather? :troll:

Although my Pats are not championship contenders this season, this team will always play hard under Belichick. It's about winning ugly and grinding out wins. Relying more on the defense to make plays.

The team has a great offensive line, a QB who can run, and good running backs.

Damien Harris had a great game with 121 yards rushing. -good play call with Jakobi Meyers throwing that TD pass to Burkhead.

Huge win for the Patriots! They are in the hunt for a playoff spot especially with the Bills losing to Arizona today.

SkinnyPupp
11-15-2020, 07:44 PM
Yup huge win for the Pats, they run the ball so well. Ravens D woke up in the second half like last week, but it wasn't enough. Their center screwed up 9 snaps, 5 of which were handled OK by Lamar. The others got by him, including that one that went 16 yards behind him (and the one by Ingram). Skura injured his finger 3 weeks ago, and has been bad since. Add in the weather and you get this FeelsBadMan

One positive is that the Ravens can be underdogs again. Hated the expectations that last season brought. I posted that here last season and going into the Titans game. It just doesn't feel right. Of course you want to win, but it shouldn't feel like "it's supposed to be automatic"

I already thought the expectations should have been lower with Yanda retiring. We're talking about an all time great tackle, who was the heart of the offense. He's the one that is responsible for letting Lamar and Ingram go off last year. He retired but they still had one of the best guards in the league... Until he broke his ankle FeelsBadMan (Oh and in this game they lost Boyle, the best blocking TE in the NFL, for the season FeelsBadMan )

The hope is to beat the Brownies again and the Steelers. The other games are the Titans, and some cream puffs (Giants, Cowboys, Jaguars, Bengals, although the latter is a divisional game that can go crazy).

Should be able to make it into the playoffs and go from there, as underdogs.

Patriots are still irrelevant but who knows, they are maybe in the hunt now. They have to play the Bills again, Dolphins are good, and you also have the Cardinals and Rams in a dome (Dolphins in a dome too). Even the Chargers have potential to beat any team, again in a dome. This was a huge game for them, and the weather came up big on every Ravens drive (especially the last one)... Things always seem to go their way for some reason, so actually don't count them out Kappa

I doubt the game will happen on Sunday either. Harbaugh isn't letting anyone near the facility until Monday. If NFL forces them to play, they might not show up, who knows? If the NFL cares at all about player safety, they'll postpone the game to another week. I think the Ravens would rather forfeit the game than endanger more of their staff.

Also this will happen again... Not sure if it was here or another forum, but I predicted this would happen, and I predicted they wouldn't be able to play a full season. We shall see! What a nightmare! WutFace

Bad news for the 49ers. They are going to have to play their final three home games in the Cardinals stadium because of Covid restrictions in Santa Clara County. The team cannot play any games or go to practice facilities in Santa Clara.

https://www.nfl.com/news/49ers-hc-kyle-shanahan-disappointed-by-santa-clara-covid-19-restrictions

Santa Clara County, home of the 49ers' Levi's Stadium, released new COVID-19 restrictions on Saturday that ban all contact sports and mandate a 14-day quarantine for anyone traveling into the area from 150 miles away, meaning the 49ers will need a new home to finish the 2020 season.

The news came as a shock to 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan, who spoke on the matter for the first time following his team's last-second 23-20 win over the Rams on Sunday in Los Angeles.

"It was a very disappointing thing what we got yesterday," Shanahan said, via ESPN's Nick Wagoner. "For us to be find that out while we're getting on a plane ... it was extremely disappointing."

Shanahan added the team was not warned ahead of time of the impending ban, finding out via social media and receiving little additional information from county officials on the reasoning behind the decision or how the 49ers' situation might negatively affect the county's COVID-19 issues, per Wagoner and The Athletic's David Lomardi.

The NFL would like the 49ers to find a home in an existing NFL stadium before exploring other options, such as major Division I collegiate stadiums, as per the articles I read on nfl.com.

Perhaps the league's rationale for preferring NFL stadiums is because stadium support staff ensure that these stadiums already meet the league standards for Covid protocol compared to a college stadium facility? :considered:

Not sure if anyone watched the Wednesday game, but I got up at 4am to watch it, knowing what the most likely outcome would be. I just wanted to support the team in their fight, and boy did they fight! 8 players making their NFL debuts, an entire O line of replacements, a QB who can't do anything but run, missing 2 RB starters day of game, and everything else

And it all came down to a blown call by the refs

https://twitter.com/NotScTop10plays/status/1334257257891180545

Not even going to be mad at the Steelers for doing this, every team does it (though I've never seen it more blatant). It's a low risk high reward cheat for them, and they got away with it because the refs are absolutely incompetent.

A win would have been nothing short of amazing, but the effort put out there was impressive enough.

They might have to win out to make it to the playoffs, but it's possible. The only winning team they have left are the Browns and if you've been watching the Browns, their record is a lot better than their play (mostly due to weather though so it's hard to tell for sure)

I hope everyone recovers from Covid without issue. Even that's not a guarantee...

That was one of the most insane games I've ever watched

You couldn't write a better script than Lamar's comeback

For those who didn't watch (I'm sure someone will make a video tonight)

Lamar has to leave for "cramps" in the 4th quarter... If presumptions are true, it's a REALLY bad case of the runs (bad enough to keep an MVP starter out of the most important game of the year) (I also don't like to joke about it, if it's related to covid.. I'll wait and see what they say)

Trace McSorley comes in, plays decent enough on his second drive. Nice pass to Snead who makes an insane catch to keep them alive. Hurts himself on a 3rd down run, looks really bad. People looking around like "who's QB3?"

Oh and it's 4th and 4

OUT COMES SUPERMAN I MEAN LAMAR FUCKING JACKSON! 2 minute warning

OK he's been running great but passing hasn't been on point tonight... let's see what he can do

Looks like he has some room to get the first down with another great run

NEVER FUCKING MIND! Dime to... of all people, HOLLYWOOD BROWN who has been dropping it all night (and has been bad all season)

And then they had to do another come back to win with a 55 yarder, after some soft defensive play with key injuries in their secondary all game

Seriously, you can't write this stuff... Better than fiction

The Ravens defence and Lamar Jackson played well against Tennessee.

Woke up at 2am to watch the Ravens and it paid off big time! Was so nervous, because while they've contained Henry for 3 quarters in both their last 2 games, he went off in the 4th and OT both times and took over. Not this time though!

I don't know if it's this year, but the Titans will implode pretty soon. You can't have a classless goon for a coach and not implode eventually. Maybe if Henry's dominance ends for whatever reason, and Tannehill can't rely on play action so much. Once that happens, all their games will look like today's. And the coach is building a culture of classless trashy attitudes, and it will ruin them if they stop winning.

And yes, Ravens D celebrating on the Titans logo after the game sealing pick has to be one of the greatest cases of justice in NFL history. Just absolutely made them PAY LUL I doubt Vrabel will be out there with his team dancing and wiping their feet on opponents' logos telling their coach to "go coach a game" any time soon EleGiggle

As for the other games, there were a couple good games. Bills vs Colts was exciting and came down to the wire as Rivers played his heart out in what was most likely his last game. Josh Allen is scary at times but he still makes really dumb decisions here and there.

Washington put up a good fight too, and their 3rd or 4th string QB showed so much heart. He just earned himself a backup career for the next 10 years lol

Seattle is just brutal to watch. "Let Russ Cook" was great for about 6 games, but they went back to their old "run, run, pass, punt" playbook. Great game by the Rams and their coach.

Chicago vs NO went as you'd expect. Didn't pay much attention to that one once it was clear the Bears wouldn't be able to score more than one TD.

https://streamable.com/vfsz9r

Finally, great for the Brownies and their fans! After so many decades of suck, and a week of covid issues, things finally went their way. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong for the Steelers. It's basically what happened to Baltimore in their first game vs the Steelers this year. Steelers could do NOTHING, but Lamar gave up 4 turnovers and just gave them the game. Without all those turnovers, what would the Browns score be? 14?

Thing is they can still beat the Chiefs if they are healthy. Chiefs and Bills will be heavily favoured, but if the Ravens can play like the Ravens, they will win 9 times out of 10. Believe it or not, since coming back from Covid, Lamar is playing better than he did in his MVP season last year. Better passing, better running, and the team is playing better. Defense is healthy... I just want them to play to their ability!

And if the Browns play to their best ability, they can beat the Chiefs too. Mahomes isn't a world beater this year.

They don't take kindly to that, and after he got blasted in (iirc) the Bengals game, it started to come out that it's an issue for people. So Tomlin had him quit, but the stink is already there so players who beat him continue to shit on him.

Not classy in winning? Sure... But he brought it on himself, don't cry about it when you taunt someone and they fight back and you lose.

Same thing happened to the Titans, and I don't even see them talking shit after getting their logo stomped, because they know they brought it on themselves. And they have a classless hack as their coach, so that's pretty impressive!

Go easy on claypool, the dude is only 22 years old lol

imagine being 22, going on a long winning streak as a rookie, having crazy highlights, everyone in the media crowning you as the next megatron or “mapletron”. Juju is the biggest disappointment this year. He was supposed to step up to fill AB’s void on and off the field but instead created this troll culture while not showing up on the field. Its up to Tomlin now to curb this social media non sense.

Oh 100%, which is why I was questioning the leadership of the team, not him so much (though the second video is like... come on man). Juju definitely to a lesser extent, he's just a kid trying to get over on social media.

But when you do that shit, and the team that beats you copies your tik tok dance and tik tok music, eat that humble pie, don't be salty about it LUL Especially when, like you said, your performance on the field wasn't really relevant without AB to take all the top coverage away.

GG Bills, I'll be cheering for them to win it all. Bills, then anyone but Chiefs.

My wishes for next season

1) Lamar and Ronnie Stanley get healthy

2) Keep Martindale and Roman, but hire someone to draw up proper schemes on passing plays. Lamar plays out of his mind as a passer to overcome his team's shitty schemes. If he was anyone else, he'd be in Nick Foles territory stats.

3) A true WR1 to take some attention off Hollywood and give him some more space and coverage from DBs further down the depth chart

4) Keep the defensive front intact if at all possible. Do everything possible to keep the defense looking as close as possible to this season. They have been amazing in this run.

5) Keep Gus and Dobbins as RB1A 1B

6) Oh and a fucking center who doesn't snap the ball 6 feet over Lamar's head every other game!

What a game! Coach Andy Reid with a gutsy play call on 4th down and inches to get a first down to win the game. He trusted his backup QB to throw a pass to Tyreek Hill. Wow!

The defending champs Chiefs are still alive!

The backup QB played well. What a big run for Henne to help the team get a big first down.

Great game to watch. Huge respect for the Browns. They came a bit short in today’s game.

Baker Mayfield played well save for the interception. Fortunately, the Chief kicker missed a 33 yard field goal from that interception. :lawl:

In the end, it did not matter.

The Chiefs set a record for hosting the AFC Championship for a third straight season.

Sucks about Mahomes going down - two of NFL's biggest young stars leaving the game with concussions really sucks.

Browns played well enough to stay close to a Henne backed Chiefs, but let's be real. If Mahomes didn't get injured we'd be looking at a 40 burger against the Browns. Without the toe, maybe 50.

Missed opportunities for the Packers to win the NFC championship. When Brady throws three straight INTs, Green Bay needs to score more than just 6 points from turnovers!

The Packers coach makes a questionable decision on 4th down late in the game. A field goal instead of going for it on fourth down?

-wasted a good game by Aaron Rodgers. He has one year left on his contract.

That Packers receiver drops the ball when the Packers decide to go for the 2 point convert after scoring a touchdown. Again, missed opportunities to get more points in this game.

The Bucs defense made huge plays in this game. If Brady keeps throwing picks in the Superbowl, Tampa Bay is going to be the first NFL team to host a Superbowl and lose the big game. :lawl:

SkinnyPupp

Brady is going to get a lot of credit for the win, but this game was all about the Bucs dominant defense. I've been following the Bucs because many of my favorite non-Ravens are on that team - JPP, Mike Evans, Ryan Jensen (loved that tough bastard on the Ravens, wish they could have afforded to keep him) and their D has been good to great all year (with ups and downs). Everyone talks about Brady, but they are a complete team.

Brady almost threw the game away literally, but the defense stepped up.

4th down FG was weird, but they got stopped anyway so I guess it doesn't matter

As for the Chiefs, my god it's frustrating when you're cheering for their opponent. Everything they do on offense just seems automatic. With the Bills defense the way it is, the only way they stood a chance is if Allen played out of his mind and won in a shootout. That didn't happen, and he had some plays that looked similar to last year when he threw the game away vs the Texans. This one wasn't all on him this time, but they didn't stand a chance unless he played perfect.

I'm kind of already sick of the Chiefs LUL so I'll be cheering for Brady weirdly enough. He's so much more likeable when he's not on the cheating Patriots and his teammates are way more likeable now (AB notwithstanding). I almost always root for the underdog anyway, and I assume somehow he's the underdog this time.

GO BUCS! PogChamp

That 4th down field goal was one of the worst calls I've seen in a playoff game sans that moron Pete Carroll passing on the goal line when they had the best RB in the league at the time.

It made no sense, you go for it and get stuffed oh well you're still only down by a score (obviously need two point conversion) but you have them pinned deep. Kicking a field goal didn't do much, sure now you can win with a TD but you still have to get the ball back and you still have to drive the field.

Dumb is dumb, Packer fans going to be crying about the Pass Interference on 3rd down to close out the game and I kind of understand because nothing had been called all game but that was blatant as blatant can be so I have no issue with the refs calling it. Packer fan needs to be pissed off at Matt LaFleur, he was either drunk or he bet the over.

Brady played one of his worst games of the year, I don't expect him to play that bad in two weeks. That Bucs D is a force for sure, I'm not saying their going to win although I'll be rooting for them I just hope it's a good game.

SkinnyPupp

You can make cases either way... Chiefs offense looks completely automatic. Bucs will have to hold them to 30, and hope their offense can step up unlike the Bills. Arians won't play scared like McDermott; going for field goals against the Chiefs only serves to make it look like a closer loss. Brady obviously can't serve up 3 interceptions, because unlike the Packers, the Chiefs aren't going to net 3 points on 3 picks LUL

On the other hand, Fisher going out is huge. No Schwartz, no Fisher, and with JPP and Barrett playing lights out, and Vea back and hopefully even more healthy... They should be able to get pressure on Mahomes. If they can do that without having to blitz, it's going to be very good for them.

SkinnyPupp

Deshaun Watson is gone from the Texans. He officially asked for a trade 2 weeks ago, and there's no going back from that.

In the meantime, Texans hired their head coach. David Culley who has never coached before at 65 years old. Yup, the Ravens WR coach/pass game coordinator. Ravens pass game you say? Last in the league? Yup that guy. Former WR coach for the Chiefs? The team that had ZERO WR touchdowns for an entire season? Yup, same guy

Oh and the Ravens get two extra 3rd round draft picks for losing a black coach PogChamp

If you guys don't know the deal with the Texans, it is actually an INSANE story. They basically have a Joel Osteen character who is in the owner's and GM's ear for all top decisions. A guy with zero football knowledge (he was hired by the Texans and before that the Patriots to be the motivational chaplain)

There is pretty much a Littlefinger situation happening in the NFL, and it has led to the team giving away Nuk Hopkins and now Deshaun. Oh and refusing to work with Duane Brown who was holding out (remember, Easterby is the one negotiating with players), only to trade him away and sign similarly skilled Laremy Tunsil for more money.

That's the massive TLDR but this is the article you'll want to read (https://www.si.com/nfl/2020/12/10/ex-chaplain-jack-easterby-houston-texans-chaos-after-power-struggle-daily-cover) to get caught up

Tampa Bay wins their second Super Bowl because of their tough imposing defence.

The Bucs won the game on the scrimmage line with their defensive line and offensive dice lines. They sat back, and only blitzed five times tonight.

Defensive coordinator Todd Bowles deserves t tonne of credit for a defensive scheme that surprised the Chiefs offence.

Hard to imagine that AB, Gronk, and Fournette made a huge impact in this game.

Could Russell Wilson’s tenure with the Seattle Seahawks actually be nearing an end after nine consecutive years of above-.500 football?

There has been trade buzz around the star quarterback ever since his frustrations regarding pass protection and his overall relationship with the organization were made public earlier this month.

A Thursday story from The Athletic reported tensions between Wilson and the coaching staff, particularly head coach Pete Carroll, were high at times during the 2020 season. The article indicated Wilson even “stormed out of the room” during a mid-season meeting with coaches, during which Wilson was reportedly pushing for more input on personnel decisions and offensive game planning, however, his ideas were dismissed.
