New axle installed.

blue92eg 08-03-2006 07:52 PM

tom u need to upgrade those things to stronger axles lol then you wont have to worry about anything breaking

Tchleung 08-03-2006 09:36 PM

This is the first axle in like 2 years lol.

fourtirefire 08-03-2006 11:18 PM

finally serviced my K&N filter on the car, that thing was plugged full of dirt!
and did some de-carbonization of my combustion chambers thanks to some steam cleaning.

down_hill_dog 08-04-2006 06:12 AM

dan, did the de-carbonization help at all? what i mean was it noticeable

Slo40 08-04-2006 06:39 AM

Wired up and turned on the two step feature in the microtech. Took out the useless rear seats, no real weight savings.

SaviorSelf_666 08-04-2006 12:23 PM

^^ what microtech

Slo40 08-04-2006 12:29 PM

I have a microtech LT10s running my SR20 ;)

not really... it does tend to idle a bit smoother now, but it could probably use some more water injection treatment as the piston tops still have some crap on them

Tchleung 08-04-2006 09:49 PM

I take my statement back. my remaned Fneco axle almsot killed me tonight. Binds up and locks up udner heavy load and tries to pull me into the ditch........

jeffh 08-04-2006 10:05 PM

^ reman alxes are super gay sauce, i broke my driverside again doing a burnout, then the first replacement had a super vibration, so i had to buy lunch for my monkey twice to fix the dumb thing.

Tchleung 08-05-2006 09:52 AM

I put my old clicknig axle back in for now as it doesn't bind. Did it this morning at 6am in under 25 minutes on the ground :D

Tchleung 08-05-2006 09:54 AM

Mod of the day, got a wheel alignment

Dirt Rider 08-05-2006 10:13 AM

put some new plugs in the R6.. wow what a dif. it made. :) goign to ride the biek to a wedding today.. hello helm. hair :)

Tchleung 08-05-2006 12:48 PM

Just did 4wheel alignment. FL had 3/4" toe in haha. FR had 1/4" Toe out, and rears were also messed. every wheel pointing to the right. Took me a while to get onto the alignment lifts at work but we gotter...

down_hill_dog 08-06-2006 12:01 PM

-put in a set of BKR8EIX ngk iridium plugs, 3 heat ranges colder (suggested in my s/c kit)

-took out a bunch of antifreeze, put in a bottle of water wetter and topped it up with water. the previous owner thought it would be a GOOD idea to run antifreeze only, as it tested good to -52*c. Ouch on the cooling capabilities!

after this, it's already running better with less ping.

Edit* I also got Barb to rev up the car while I let the engine suck up water through the intake manifold. It's steamed and stuttered for a while, but after we went for a drive and cleaned it all out and then reset the ECU for codes... Wow it drives AWESOME now. I'm excited!!!! with a cooler thermostat the smaller pulley can safely go back on :)

proshoraca 08-06-2006 05:07 PM

3 ranges colder holy shit, i've heard 1range/50 hp increase by about 7 different engine builders, but if thats what the company says, must be right.

-modded a new non-blown out u-joint into the front of my driveshaft in the pits, as the existing one shit the bed across the finish line while racing Shaun in the 1/4 haha.

girlcrazy_420 08-06-2006 05:10 PM

Woulnt more coolant be better? I'm running 95% strait water... had a cooling leak but is now fixed.

My mod... 3 days of mud and abuse and now she's clean... half hour in the fucking car wash GGRRR

down_hill_dog 08-06-2006 05:11 PM

keep in mind in 01 Mazda decided to adopt vvt and 11.0:1 compression, add a supercharger and it's super hard to not produce ping.

adam, from what i've researched... More water than coolant cools better than more coolant than water!

MURR 08-06-2006 06:03 PM

Intercooler... Low air temps are key to making power.
Blowers make the same amount of heat as turbos. Its the compressing of air that adds heat, not the turbo itself.

Thats what I researched also... but on www.howstuffwork.com it says differently

http://auto.howstuffworks.com/cooling-system3.htm

proshoraca 08-06-2006 08:09 PM

do a 60/40 split if your worried about it, even 70/30. most race type cars will do a 70/30 if freezing weather is not a problem, cause the ethelyne glycol(green "coolant") if overmixed will create poor cooling. i'd go 60/40. water/"coolant" just test it when it gets colder out with one of those hydrometers with the little arrow to point which temp. freezing will occur

fourtirefire 08-07-2006 06:43 AM

and if your really hardcore just run water and a bottle of watter wetter, then swap it out for coolant in the fall.

Chandler 08-07-2006 11:02 AM

flipped tires over on the wheels and rotated them. should wear a lot better now

down_hill_dog 08-08-2006 06:42 AM

nah it's already running 100% better danny. Almost time for the small pulley again... does anyone have a boost guage they wanna get rid of?
