i don't subscribe the "wheel cleaner"s instead i use my trusty wd40. works wonder for me and its supposed to be easier on my wheel paint. i think its also cheaper

honduhman 02-02-2005 08:02 PM

I subscribe papertowel stuffed under my hood in the engine mount slot dinger.

Take out... wipe... throw out.... replace.

Good for when you need to check your oil on the run.

Tchleung 02-02-2005 09:18 PM

I use it to clean the underside of my hood too:p

down_hill_dog 02-02-2005 11:18 PM

i have a civic that uses not ONE drop of oil between oil changes. There is no need to check.

Jeff, wd-40 on your wheels? Think about what WD-40 is... What is right behind your wheels? Brakes... You get any kind of oil or liquid on the pads that is'nt brakleen they'll be tainted forever. You's crazy man....

I'm primarily checking for milkshake weekly. :p

down_hill_dog 02-03-2005 02:37 PM

hahaha i know what that's like tommy.

Did a tuneup and cleanup on the yz250 today finally. Wow now it is actually a good looking bike, and dang it hauls some ass.. Steve, Adam. Either of you want to race???? lol

bluebomber85 02-03-2005 04:05 PM

I took my bike out the other day and i crashed pretty hard and hurt my knee on a patch of really hard pack dirt.. no racing for me just yet. but we gotta go riding sometime, bring your bike up to glenmore.,,
haha

down_hill_dog 02-03-2005 04:17 PM

i just may have to... once it gets a little warmer out i'll give ya a shout and we'll hit it up

girlcrazy_4 02-03-2005 05:05 PM

I raced the 250 against the 125 a-while back. The 125 killed it off the line and top speed. Let me know before Bill buys it and we'll see if your "tune up" helped any;)

btw: do you have anything that can braise? I need to fix the exaust on the 125 and my welder is too hot for it.

bigs_Teg 02-03-2005 09:31 PM

Upped the boost pressure to 11psi (7 stock) and added a cone filter/adapter. :dizzy: :dizzy:

Next up, a/f gauge, downpipe and 15 psi.

Tchleung 02-03-2005 09:36 PM

Nice. Did you end up witha DIY setup?

bigs_Teg 02-03-2005 09:39 PM

yep, its working great, hasn't spiked on me once. Jumps right up to 11psi and holds there solid.

edit:
And we got it set to 11psi on our second adjustment haha, it was a nice change from how things were going so far

whys wd40 any differant than rim cleaner? id say rim cleaner or some of the stuff ive tried is alot rougher on things than some wd40. i generally spray it onto paper towel and thenwipe the wheels like that.

i thought you were spraying it onto the wheel, but also just think wd-40 is like a lubricant... it is going to help attract dust aswell. where a good wheel cleaner will leave them clean and dry. i dunno w/e your choice

fourtirefire 02-05-2005 01:20 PM

did an oilchange yesterday.. used a purolator pure premium oil filter... supposedly alot better quality than fram shit
and.. did a few little things like reinstall my second rad fan, cut down the exhaust clamp on my O2 dump so the fan would fit.. topped up t-case oil, played with some s-afc settings... and washed it today

Tchleung 02-05-2005 01:22 PM

Finished mounting and setting up the new gauges and avcr/vafc and what not.

jeffh 02-05-2005 10:56 PM

toms stuff looks rad like a spaceship

fourtirefire 02-06-2005 09:38 PM

finally got a few things done today:
visual imagery here http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=2131074340

-took out my intercooler.
-flushed the fins of it with soapy water, got rid of alot of flies and sand
-flushed the inside of it with gasoline, got rid of alot of oily deposits and shit that reduces it's efficiency
-removed some gay plastic thing that suposedly ducts air towards the intercooler, but looks like it restricts flow to it.
-polished up the end tanks a bit...
-ported my throttle body elbow.. it had a nice sharp edge protruding into the airflow
-painted my BOV the same as the body color, looks better than the fugly green shit before
