were gonan have to do another session, see if we can get it sorted.

fourtirefire 04-15-2005 07:52 PM

de-modded a random bolt that decided to wedge itself between the lower cross member and transmission... felt like i was driving a solid steel motor mount car!

down_hill_dog 04-15-2005 09:43 PM

its awesome when you drop off your bike to get a new tire put on, and the guy at the desk says, "yellow bike that's tire is still probably smoking?" hehe.

good old 2nd gear 10,ooo rpm 7seconds later should do it.

fourtirefire 04-16-2005 08:50 PM

todays list:
intake de-carbonization
new pcv valve
new ngk platinum plugs(gapped at the recommended .028, vs the .045ish the old ones were at)
new plug wires after my 6month old napa "premium" ones came apart pulling them off the plugs... pieces of shit they are..

Tchleung 04-16-2005 08:52 PM

Today I rewrapped downpipe better with exaust wrap. Also wraped a few areas of ym IC pippnig that have potential spots to rub. Hrm... driveway tuned the car on jack stands, then started her up. first crank ain't no thang. Put the wheels back on it and dropped her down. Also rasied the car up a bit more and might have to go even more as 2" clearence is kinda scary for my exhaust.

Driveway tuning at it's best

Got pretty well everything ready to take my motor out today.

And test fitted a new goody.

proshoraca 04-20-2005 08:13 PM

put on some rubbers

Tchleung 04-20-2005 09:33 PM

Put my bumper on today. last time it was on was months ago it seems lol.

fourtirefire 04-20-2005 11:20 PM

did some datalogging/ tuning...
wow those new spark plugs and wires helped tons...

before at 13 psi at best it would get around 23 counts of knock and 8 degrees of timing advance at WOT

now at 15 psi at best it's getting 8 counts with very quick, rough tuning of fuel maps.. and 15degrees of timing at WOT yippee!!

Tchleung 04-21-2005 08:17 AM

What did you gap your old plugs to? and what is the gap now? I bet that had more to do with it.

fourtirefire 04-21-2005 07:10 PM

exactly.. old plugs were .040~
new ones i put to what was suggested by a fellow dsm'er at .028

down_hill_dog 04-21-2005 07:28 PM

hmm maybe the integra at my work could use some new plugs re-gapped

Tchleung 04-21-2005 09:11 PM

I gap mines to .032ish

bluebomber85 04-23-2005 03:33 PM

giving the beater truck a bit of a facelift. pulled off the front lip sanded primed and painted it white to 'match' the body. also the front grill was broken on one side so i took a hacksaw to the other side and evened it all up, looks better like it was 'supposed' to look like that. haha. now i need to bend the front of the fender so that the turning signal isn't sitting so crooked. starting to look a tad better. going to install a shitty old pioneer cd player pretty quick here and buy some half ass speaks for the door. i've got a vacuum leak and it's causing my motor to idle really high, so instead of fixing that because it could be a hassle, we turned down the idle screw a tad. somewhat fixed it but it runs kind of rough. damned old vehicles.

girlcrazy_4 04-23-2005 10:13 PM

Got a new mobile 1 oil filter, Quaker state oil, some oil additives and a few interior goodies.

Also got a 1984 Honda Odtyssey 250 Dune buggy... its in the driveway :D

down_hill_dog 04-24-2005 01:57 AM

you just bought the worst oil on this planet... burn baby burn... not to mention i had an oilchange done with castrol GTX about oh 1500 km's before you bought it.
