Hi all,

In the market for a diver watch. I really like the look of the diver watches and think the Seikos are in my price range($200-300). Just wanted to see if you guys know any other brands or have had a good experience with a specific model?

SBGR051.

Not too many people would be willing to buy a GS. Nice choice :)

Unfortunately so. It was a toss-up between this or a vintage Rolex GMT, glad I picked the GS.

Love the GS, but a vintage GMT woulda been damn sweet too.

Anyone here have skin allergies to metal (can't wear certain metals)?

I was looking into buying a G Shock but am not sure if the metal buckle will cause irritation...

I used to have that problem too with Nickel and other metals, but just coat the surface with clear nail polish and you're good to go.

whats the word on Nixon and Bulova branded watches. I'm not after anything crazy (read: most i'm willing to pay is $150-200. Not looking for conversation starter..more fashion accessory) but need a decent watch to wear to fancy places.

Men's Precisionist Watch | Hudson's Bay

Nixon is fine it is a fashion brand so their designs tend to get dated and you do pay a premium for what they are. As long as you're ok with that don't sweat too much about it.

Brand perception aside Bulova has some great pieces. Their Precisionist line is a smooth-sweeping quartz that is capable of accuracy to 10 seconds per year (although it's well known that claim is exaggerated.) I find their men's models a little chunky so it's probably best for you to try them on before buying.

You might also want to check out some Eco-Drive models from Citizen.

Do brands matter to you? What kind of styles do you like?

6793026 08-10-2014 10:22 AM

no idea why but i've always preferred the brand of citizen versus invintia or Bulova.

then when i look at eco drive, just simply amazing. I was thinking of Ecozilla versus Autozilla, but the fact when i have so many watches, i hate it when I have to adjust my automatics, so i fell in love with Ecozilla (eco drive).

I am actually selling my Ecozilla with Suppa adaptors!
Let me know if you are interested.

http://ts2.mm.bing.net/th?id=HN.6080...785187&pid=1.7

any thoughts

AVS_Racing 08-10-2014 10:47 PM

I was going to pick one up but I never did, I'm scared of white watches staining. I have a few and they are still sitting in the drawer for that reason.

ae101 08-10-2014 11:06 PM

^
how much were they, last time i check (which was a during chinese new year) it was like $300 rmb in china at a store

was going to buy online.............but when i looked at the prices for the g shocks online, they seem fishy to me (as its super cheap), which is why i was debating

If you have an amerifriend or you're comfortable with picking up packages from parcel services at the border, consider ordering from Jomashop. I bought my G-shock (GW-9200) for $120 after tax vs. $220+tax locally. I didn't have to pay any taxes at the border (this is luck-dependent) but there's potentially huge savings here.
