FYI shady customer service in case you need warranty. There were a slew of complaints made on KS about various assembly/manufacturing flaws (hands touching, movement stopping) on their quartz version and coincidentally R&C ran a campaign to win a free watch if you post a "positive" comment about your most favourite feature of the original watch subsequently pushing the negative and unaddressed comments out of immediate view.

I'd be a little wary considering the typical aesthetics what should separate these micro brands vs. major names is service. Buy the seller.

I've had nothing but bad experiences with Miyota movements and those watches seem to be using Miyota movements... so yeah, I'd stay away unless it was from a brand that provides top notch customer service.

This is a similar classic look with a better movement (albiet chinese) from a small boutique company that I've had my eye on: Bauhaus watch

That's a clean looking watch with a decent price point, but aren't sea gull (they're using movement) in the same price range?

Edit: perhaps I'm mistaken. Seems like Bauhaus refers to the clean style rather than manufacturer (maybe?). Either way, nice looking watch and good price point.

Nice, I've yet to see anyone own the NHLPA Avenger but I always see them at the store.

I think it's an older orange dial Breitling Superocean.
The bracelet and bezel does not look like Seiko Monster at all.

Yes Bauhaus is the style. The owner originated from an internet forum starting off doing just pocket squares but has expanded his line since.

Just backed Kickstarter for Rossling & Co's automatic watch, was gonna buy their quartz one but when I found out they were going to release an automatic decided to wait. ETA March 2015

Another option Classic Rodina automatic wrist watch OEM by Sea-Gull ST17

Does anyone know anything about Archimede watches?

PILOT 42 Automatic Eta 2824

The Pilot 42 kind of caught my eye....doesn't seem to be much about this company

It's a smaller brand but part of Ickler so they have history. The Pilot models are great value versus a comparable Stowa Pilot and even though they use standard grade, undecorated ETA movements they regulate them before shipping out. Probably the best Pilots to go for when factoring value for money.

Kinda debating between the archiemede and the hamilton pilot watches....

I'd go with the Hamilton based on its much longer history.
My Hamilton with 7750 movement keeps exceptional time and its not even cosc!

Once I saw this I knew I wanted one, gonna get an M67 as my daily.

Thanks

Anyone have a lead on a reputable sales rep or store for Tag Heuer? Online or local retail is fine. Thanks! :)

to be delivered ON by birthday!! :fullofwin:

great present to myself after years of hard work!

ilvtofu 10-18-2014 12:23 AM

Ordered a ton of Natos but I think I'll use this black/grey zulu strap to replace the very broken 8 year old strap of my Seiko Black Monster

I'm not sure if I need to service it though, guessing its probably not worth it, but the movement sounds loose and rattley and the power reserve seems very short.
