Hello all,

Was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy the Orient Mako (FEM65001BW) online, here, or in Hong Kong? It seems to be out of stock everywhere and overpriced on Amazon. Thank you!

Caught my eye... (The white/tan one in particular)

MVMT Watches | Quality Crafted Watches That Don't Break The Bank

opinions?

Worth the price? anyone have one? I like big faces but if its a cheap quality watch not worth its 95 bucks I would like to know. thanks.

for around that price you could get something more reputable and reliable like a Citizen or a Seiko.. but if you really like the style, go for it

^ ^ ^

Here's a thread about it on WUS:
MVMT Watches - pretty cool?

Miyota quartz movement is a plus but it was better value when it was half the price during crowd funding. Pretty basic watch otherwise.

45mm is also huge especially a clean dial and not a fan of the logo placement either. Minimalist styling is pretty trendy these days I'm sure there are variants out there at a better price point.

EDIT:
Have you checked out Cadence watches? Same idea. A Morgan or Hanko will set you back at 1/3 the price.

Anyone have a place locally to pick up a spring bar tool? (the one where you remove the strap/bracelet from the watch, not the one used to remove watch bracelet links)

Anyone know where I can get a Daniel Wellington watch locally, besides Boys Co?

Classic Bristol

Not that I know of. I've ordered from their site several times before. Fast, reliable shipping.
German watches, tactical watches, watch accessories - Gnomonwatches.com is another place to find Steinhart. No issues with them in the past either.

Szeto 06-06-2014 01:13 PM

^thanks for that info, will check it out. I know one RS member had it listed for sale but that was long ago and can't recall if it's the same member who told me he bought one off watchgeek :) anyways, love that watch ...

cheers

No worries.
I've ordered from both sites in the past and haven't had any issues whatsoever.
If I were to do it again though, I'd order from gnomon watches.
Reason being, although steinhart watches are bang for buck, their quality control isn't all that great(hit or miss), from what I've read anyways. Whereas if you ordered from gnomon watches, since they're an AD of steinhart, they would have dealt with any issues on any particular watch before you receiving it.
Gnomon is great to deal with. Often times they'll throw in a free nato strap or something.

Good luck!

I think it was me who sold the Steinhart Nav B Chrono here on RS :)
It was quite a while back and the buyer posted it for sale again few months back on RS too, I believe.
Steinhart watches are really bang for the buck but after trying few chrono watches I find that I just don't have the use for them and I actually found the chrono dials too busy over the time.
If I were to do it again I would prefer the 44mm model as the 47mm is really big especially with the diamond crown. It digs into the wrist a lot for me.

Good luck!

Brooklyn clothing on Davie.

If you're willing to do online I'd recommend Park & Province in Toronto:
Watches ? Park & Province

They're great.

On a side note, I'm not sure why people like Daniel Wellington watches. I get the minimalist aesthetic, which I think they do well. But the logo is awful, brutal typography with the backwards D. Looks like a $10 watch brand. IMHO

I was the one who bought the Nav B off you a couple years back. I found the 47mm too big and like you said the crown dug into my hand. Was able to find a buyer who had a bigger hand/wrist so the watch ended up working for him.

Did you buy it locally? I got a quote for $1820 retail at a shop in Langley. She mentioned that there is a cash discount but I'd have to come into the store and I haven't done that yet.

StylinRed 06-13-2014 04:26 PM

Hamilton is great, I would check out prices online though so you at least know where you can negotiate down to

@ the price range you could find some fairly nice vintage watches too, in solid gold even, but there's a risk due to fakes out there

I'd also take a look at Maurice Lacroix watches, I'm a fan of theirs, they've been releasing some watches at that price range too in recent times you may see something you like, but again that Hamilton is nice

these are similar looking to the hamilton and if you shop online you can find them anywhere from $1-2.5k

I think id go with the Hamilton though

Those are nice! Any local dealers you'd recommend?
