I did live chat today and the guy offered me his best deal on an upgrade to iPhone 8 plus 256 GB He waived the $25 connection fee. I told him you did your best no worries. Was not the slightest surprised there. |
So out of nowhere rogers calls me, I've left rogers a couple years ago and switched to virgin. Im on the 10gb for 60 dollars byop deal. Rogers is offering me a 2 year contract 10gb for $100 plus 20% off so $80 a month. On top of that an lg g7 for 199 and on the second billing month a $500 credit which i can set up to use monthly which brings my plan to $57 a month plus tax. Now this seems like a sweet deal but the only thing im worried about is after the 2 years if ill be able to get a plan similar again. I know that virgin's 10gb for 60 a month will not go up in price (my friends who are on that 40 dollar a month promo a while back still pays the same amount where as fido and rogers have increased it) Should i make the switch? My virgin plan doesnt offer canada wide calling and whenever i go to the states i only get 100mb of data for 10 dollars a day. Rogers gives me the roam like home so i get to use the full 10gb. I go to the states quite often. |

I set up one of my phone numbers with the koodo 10gb plan which offers Canada wide calling and $7 a day for easy roam. In regards to the Rogers offer, it seems like a good offer for the first two years but after that, either they'll entice you with another deal, or force you to pay full price for the monthly service fees. Alternatively speaking, you could always try getting the 8gb 56 dollar Quebec koodo plan and have the Canada wide calling and roaming features, but not sure if the loophole is still open for it. |
^i went with virgin cause of the virgin member discounts too, also i knew i would still get lte+ in campbell river (i live on the northern part of the island). Im thinking i should just do the deal anyway because rogers and fido always seems to match koodo, freedom and virgin promo deala every few months |
Just ported the Wife over from Telus to Fido on the Add a line option to my account. $45 dollars unlimited and 5g of Data. Not bad considering Telus was charging her $110/m for 3g of data. I don't know how Telus stays in Business. Berz out. |
Anyone affected by the announcement that Fido is removing most if not all discounts on existing users? I added my mom's line to my account a couple years ago because they offered me 10% off (with NO mention of expiration or time limit) and now I just got a notice this week that they are removing it May 15th because - too bad. |

Has anyone switched to this new pulse plan from Rogers and Fido? Saw this on RedFlagDeals: BYOD - $60/month for Unlimited Canada Wide Talk/Text plan with 15GB of NON-SHAREABLE Data. Confirmed to work for: - Fido - Rogers (Includes Roam Like Home) Confirmed by members in BC, Alberta and Ontario. Some members have claimed that they were able to pay off their tabs to get this plan. Yet to be confirmed: - Telus - Bell Does not work for: - Virgin (see post 149 or 218) - Koodo (See post 212) - although one member got $10 off their line (post 151) FIDO PLAN DETAILS: - Unlimited Canada-wide anytime calls - Data overage protection ( Data is paused when you reach your data limit ) - 15GB - Unlimited text/picture/video msgs from Canada to Canadian, U.S. and international cells - Call Display (Number only) - Mini Voicemail (max 3 msgs, can be upgraded to 35 msgs) - Circle Calling[emoji769] - Fido Roam[emoji769] - Fido XTRA - Conference calling - 5 FREE hours of data (1 hour, 5 times per billing cycle) with Data Bytes[emoji769] ROGERS PLAN DETAILS: - 15GB data - Unlimited Canada-wide calling - Unlimited Canada-wide sent & received text, picture & Vdeio messages - Call Display with Name Display - Enhanced Voicemail - 2500 Call forwarding minutes - Conference Calling - Call Waiting - Regular Data after 15 GB, but it's $20 per GB. Got it Monday morning for both mine and the wifes account with ease. Switched from $60 for 10GB plan to the $60 for 15GB plan. Lots of people saying it expired at 4pm yesterday but some people still posting that they were able to get it but not many. Looks like it's dead. $80 for 15Gb seems to be what people are getting quoted now. |
I got it on Saturday. Called early in the morning and got it on the first try. Wife got an asshat and wouldn't budge for her. |
Got mine early Monday morning. Note: Mine is a business account. |
Just got Koodo to give me this. $60/12gb I heard they offering $75/20gb |
any luck on telus? I'm on the 70 for 10gb. |
Just curious how or why everyone needs 10+GB? I have Wifi at home and work but that's it and I rarely need my full 5gb, maybe went over once in 2 years, most of the time I hover around 2gb used. I watch youtube and use instagram, facebook every few hours, etc like what I assume is what most people do on their phones. |

I have an unlimited LTE sim whenever I'm in Taiwan on my second phone, and that thing has mobile data enabled for every services/apps I have installed. Without making any effort, I easily go over 20GB/mth WITH a WIFI connection at home. Granted, I work a lot on the go while in TW so I tether my laptop to the cell every so often when needed, and I sync a lot of files with company's dropbox, but it gives you an idea the difference in the way I use mobile data when a cap is not present/difficult to reach. Back to topic... tried getting it with Fido, no luck after HUCA a few times as they wanted 80/mth for the 15GB. Ended up chatting online and an agent was able to do it for 70 with 300 credit toward a new phone if I get one. |

And I already use a lot of data when I have to tether my work laptop when I have to do work stuff on the road. |
