Are we still able to switch regular 6gb to LTE 6gb? Or are those chances out the door now they have the $60 plan.

wuuhoo 07-25-2012 10:11 AM

is it possible to modify a set plan?

I currently have the bbm social networking plan and planning to swap the bbm component and social networking for data. Planning to jump ships to either an android or iphone

Depends on the CSR but you might have to change your plan completely

Drow 07-26-2012 01:37 PM

I normally just call the regular customer service and ask for retentions. You'll have to be transferred. Never had a problem getting the retentions department.

during the automated system, choose the option to cancel your services. u will b transferred to retentions immediately

BrRsn 07-26-2012 02:16 PM

retentions doesn't hand out credits anymore. On my old plan i had a $15 credit/month. I switched to the 6Gig LTE plan + extended 3 years, best they could do was waive admin fee, waive early upgrade fee, and waive first 2 months payment for my contract. Overall, I'm pretty happy.

Hi, I have been with Rogers for over 12 yrs now.

I got this offer from bell : 55$ (business plan for each line)

1100 shared minutes outgoing
UNLIMITED incoming calls
UNLIMITED talking between sharing members
UNLIMITED 6pm-7am early evening calls
UNLIMITED weekends
UNLIMITED text messaging
Call Display + Voicemail
12 GB DATA
FREE LONG DISTANCE CALLING for 3 years

Bell also offer buy one get one free Samsung GS3 , so i will pay $159.99 for 2 GS3

Guess what, I talked to Rogers retention and say this is the offer bell store gave me. The agent told me their best plan was the $60 new "not so" super all-in plan (without CID and VM, which is +7$ extra), or the $88 dollar business plan (similar, but less data and minutes)...............

Seriously, he told me there is nothing more rogers will offer, basically told me to submit my 30day notice, They are willing to let me go to Bell.

Why has Rogers becoming a non-negotiable take it or leave it company?

So frustrating. I am planing to switch to bell, I have been very nice talking to retention but I guess their are not allow to give away any deals, and rather let go customers to their competitor..............End Rant

So you called bell and asked if they have anything better to offer than your current rogers plan?

How does a rogers customer go about getting into Bell's retention/loyalty team?

Any help would be nice.

I believe he just walked into a Bell Store and was offered that plan. Keep in mind it's a business plan so you need activate 2 lines to get that.

wasabisashimi - That's just the way it is mang, Rogers has for quite a while now shifted their focus to the high end customers only and have put many restrictions on what retentions can even do. It's not like some retention reps don't want to help out but they simply can't. Personally i'm just going to tough it out for a while longer and then cancel and go open a phone with my friends Bell store. I just spent 3 days talking to Rogers and spoke to people who didn't know the first thing about customer service. Heck they had to put me on hold for 15 mins just to answer my question on "how much will it cost me if I cancelled right now" even when she came back on the line they gave me the wrong answer. Finally ended up speaking with retentions and all they said was I'm on an older plan (BB Student Plan from 1.5 years ago) and they don't have anything that comes close to it. Fuck it.

yup, this was a bell store plan. they even pay for cancellation fee up to 400$ depending on the plan you sign with them.

My cancellation fee is 100$, so i will just spend my last 5 month with Roger on my 30$ tax in retention voice and text plan and say bye bye to rogers after being a 14yr customer. This is how rogers have become, unwilling to keep their customers by providing competitive pricing.

Anjew 07-26-2012 10:25 PM

exactly... loyalty does not seem to be a concern with big companies nowadays. why even bother having a retention department.

Why don't you get the $60 superplan? It's better than yours in every way other than the vm and CID.

you got about a week left to get that super plan.

I just got it for 54+ tax for the superplan, 100 bonus daytime and caller id. no voice mail though......so this deal is very possible for you to get too.

does the superplan include caller id?
if it doesnt and i add on a 20 dollar booster pack or w.e. they call it I would be back at 80 bucks taxed in

or is there a cheaper add on for just caller id?

Graeme S 08-02-2012 10:20 PM

IIRC callID outside of the package is $7 or $8

that is correct @ $7. but the caller ID is number display only. i'm going to call and see if i can get name display too.

i know the value pack thats at 12.95 has name display but that is waay too much to pay.

PornMaster 08-03-2012 03:26 AM

they always give the 12 pack for 7 they just credit you the difference.

SoNaRWaVe 08-03-2012 02:57 PM

^ i didn't get the value pack. they just gave me caller id / mini voicemail for $7.

Well if you stay you definitely shouldn't keep this plan that's for damn sure. My plan is:

250 mins
Unlimited Evening and Weekends after 6pm
Network Calling Free
500mb data
Voicemail + Caller ID package
Unlimited Text and Wifi Calling
$67 after tax and other BS charges

This wasn't even a retention plan, was a regular plan I signed up for 1.5 years ago. I think I might tough it out for a bit longer and just eat the cancellation charge and go to another company. It's not like other companies plans are so much cheaper for the same plan but I just can't stand Roger's customer service anymore and I don't want to support a company like this.

mr_chin 08-03-2012 08:00 PM

After reading so many people's plans, it's kinda unbelievable how much we are paying for cell phone services. $60 - 80 a month is quite a lot of money. Makes me think back to the days we I was paying $15 - 20 and that was consider pretty expensive.
