So I finally got around to calling these fucks after my bill went up another 5 bucks this month to $87. My voice plan went up 5 bucks this time. Anyways, guy on phone pretty much said there's no way they can give any credits cause it's better than any plan they offer. He noticed I had an old $16 iPhone package and switched it to a newer $5 which actually has more features. So as I sit I'm at 6GB, 250 mins that I never use, and unlimited texts and all that shit for $75 taxes in. Not the greatest but better then any of the new shit they are putting out. |
anyone having any luck with their negotiations? |
So Bell is upping the 6GB plan by $10 now, I wonder how long before Rogers and Telus do the same. If my bill goes up another 10 bucks I'm done with these greedy fucks. |
i just talked to Bell at retention, if you honestly tell him there are current deals at competitiors, they might try to match. Unless you have some grandfather plan that is $40 for unlimited + unlimited data, then you're the exception. Anything that's normal and legit, give it time and patience and they will try to match. |
Rogers is such a fucking joke wish i had followed through with my threats and actually left instead of reupping for the 7+..... So back when i wanted my 6 i was essentially forced into taking a $120 a month plan to keep my 6 gigs of data OR i could take on a "share everything" plan, find somone to share the plan with and split the cost, my fiance wanted to leave Telus so we went this route. ended up 8 gigs of data, unlimited everything else for approx $184 a month. This also allowed us both to to HUP's for the 2 year term cost. Both of us got 6's paid the HUP price, got locked into 2 year terms etc. Now i upgraded to my 7+ after my 2 years were up, pay the HUP price etc. etc. Fiance wants a new phone cause her 16GB is useless and so full of basic shit cant even upgrade the IOS.. she is out of the 2 year term already. Phone rogers about the HUP and look into her getting a 6S+, thinking this is an old phone the deal would be reasonable. Since i am not on a "current" plan, i no longer am able to get the HUP price, even though rogers forced me into this much more expensive plan 2 years ago, now in order to get a 6S+ i would have to spend $599 OR add $5 a month to my plan for the 2 year term and the phone would be $399.. the $5 more a month adds nothing other than money to recover the cost of the device.. what a fucking joke |
^ and that is exactly why a lot of people including myself will never sign a contract ever again just to get a device "cheaper". i just buy whatever phone i feel like outright and go about my life. my plan with koodo is this one: Unlimited Talk Canada-Wide - Unlimited Global Texting - Unlimited Canada-US MMS Picture Messaging - Voicemail - Caller-ID - Call Waiting - 5GB Data ($10/GB for overage) - $48/Month ($54.25 w/ Tax) |
My plan used to be good, and I thought I'd never do a HUP again and just keep the plan I have and everything will be fine and dandy. The problem with that is if you're not on contract Rogers can just raise your rates whenever they want. So for me my bill used to be less then $60 after tax, and now it's almost $90 even though I hadn't changed a thing. These grandfathered plans are getting phased out and soon everyone with the Big 3 will be paying new prices. I recently found out I can get on a corporate plan through my work with Telus, which is basically what I'm paying now but with 7GB instead of 6GB. Plus I'll be allowed to do HUPs again without having to worry about my bill skyrocketing. As soon as there is a phone out that I like I'm switching. I wish I wasn't such a slave to the data, but I always hit my 6 gig limit every month. |
wifey did a HUP last night after the BS with rogers on the phone.. guy in store was a guy i had dealt with before and tried to find the way around changing our plan she ended with 128GB 7+ for about $800 all said and done. Which, was kind of hard to turn down considering 6S+ are going for about $800 on CL unlocked. didnt have to change our plan and now both of us are locked back into 2 year term with our existing plan meh :/ at least we should have good re-sale on our phones. |
I was on the old Rogers 6GB plan when the first iphone came out. My tax in total slowly crept towards $75. They kept trying me to do HUP and pay for a more expensive plan, but kept turning them down. Going to jump ship to Fido for that $40 deal. |

Since Rogers and Fido are sorta the same, I've decided to post here. Transferred over from my corporate plan to the Fido $40 4gb plan! Everywhere is busy in terms of activations. $15 activation fee. If you get your family to sign up under one Account Number, each additional line will get 10% off. Maybe you can bargain for some fido credits too |
^ that's what I'm doing! Wife on Fido too so ill get that 10% plus get some credits on my account |
getting kinda of sick of rogers. they emailed me and I emailed back and they haven't fix or responded back! still stuck with the same old plan of 80-90$ with 2gb! UGH |
my brother tried switching from his fido plan over to the $40 they want over $400 to switch to it. what a joke! they wouldn't budge on anything |

Yeah my plan went up $5 too, I've repeatedly asked what I'm getting out of the increase or why is there an increase in the first place and nobody has a reasonable answer. I've also gotten the bullshit speech about my plan no longer being offered so in order to change anything or get a HUP I'd have to sign onto another agreement for at least $20+ more a month for less features. Unfortunately there's nothing we can really do, and Rogers can just keep pulling this because everyone just gives in |

I'm switching from Rogers to Virgin today because of their $40 plan. I tried retentions yesterday and they couldn't even come close so goodbye Rogers after 7 years. |

Rogers been good to me, but I always have that itch to try bell / telus but don't know if they will match my 11gb |

I can bitch all I want about Rogers deciding to jack up my plan just because. Maybe you just missed the point of my post - Not all of us are looking for a killer deal, but it doesn't get me hard when I'm told I have to pay more per month without justification. |
I just made the switch to Public Mobile last night and I couldn't be more happy.. . Yes I lost my "6GB $65" plan. But with all my add one it was close to $85 a month. I only pay $38+tax now for 4GB/mth. It's only 2Gb less, just have to change my lifestyle of streaming a bit. After 8+ yrs on Rogers, I gave them the big fuck you. I tried to negotiate with them, but they gave me the sorry the new plans are "more valued".... They wanted to sell me the same plan I have for almost double the money. That's when I had enough and jump ship. I was not eligible for a HUP because of my old plan. They basically told me if I Upgrade, I would lose it. I'm glad I made the change. Made my fiance change over too, now we pay $76/mth for two lines vs $164/mth for two lines. |
