Robbers Retentions: Loyalty? (Rogers)

So Ive got a few questions
Ive been on a retention plan for ..Ive lost count..

ANYWAY!
So Im aware that there are better plans than mine.

500 daytime, 1500 daytime etc
Unlimited evenings & weekends (evenings start at 6pm, 7pm etc)

So my question:
Is it possible for me to get one of these plans eventhough I'm already on a retention plan?

If so, whats the best way to go about it?
I know you have to be really friendly, polite blah blah

Also, these plans will be more expensive, yes?

cctw 09-06-2007 10:14 PM

actually rogers has a more expensive retention plan than the basic one...

its the same as the 250min one except you get 500 mins daytime for $50..the $50 already includes saf and 911 fee..

and i was offered another one...theres a $45 one that has 350 mins...but the rogers lady said she could double it to 700mins daytime for me..and this one u do pay the extra fees

and i think only the cancelling department can offer you better plans...the normal customer department can't do a thing..

SoulCrusher 09-06-2007 10:21 PM

Customer relations take care of this matter and yes you can switch plans even if your already on a retention plan.

Ugh..

if the better plans are more expensive its not worth it

Thanks!

oo wanted to know that too!
i'm on a $20/month ($31.xx tax in) retention plan and i'm thinkin of getting a new on sometime soon.
i'll need something with much more daytime minutes and unlimited starting at 6pm.

Thats exactly what I get, except mine's a bit more expensive cause I added the $10 for 2500 text.

I just need more daytime mins and Im set:D

But if its more expensive, I dont think its worth it

wobuffet 09-07-2007 09:33 AM

ooo not bad not bad..
heard u can get unlimited text, or a few hundred/thousand texts included as well..
that'll come in rly handy when i needa contact my gf during school hrs

cctw 09-08-2007 12:53 AM

i asked the lady 3 times and she still wouldn't give me any free text with my plan even though i'm renewing contract..

she said she can't give money credits for txt msging..

and oh..on a side note..i think you can make ur current retention plan start unlimited at 6pm if u add $5

Alphamale 09-08-2007 06:23 AM

^^not worth the 5 bucks. You can get a helluva lot more things for $5 than measly early 6pm option. Lotsa people can just get that for free.

wobuffet 09-08-2007 10:59 AM

yea ^^ i'm hoping to get at least free e/w startin 6pm and hopefully more daytime minutes and some kinda free text. i'd be happy with juz free network texting tho, as long as i can txt my gf.
i know some ppl get like 100 free texts as well...which i would be down for :D

JKam 09-08-2007 11:01 AM

i just want a cheaper plan.. :(

!Aznboi128 09-08-2007 11:16 AM

people should not have phone if they want to get a prepaid rate....

wobuffet 09-11-2007 08:08 PM

hahaha well i know draft and i both used prepaid b4 we got a retention plan:D

cuz b4, i was such a phonewhore i could only fork out $20/month for the evenings and weekends pay as u go thing.

cctw 09-12-2007 06:11 PM

oh..just a heads up..if u bargain with rogers...you only get one chance...cos they write down stuff about what u ask about and what they offer you.

If Customer Relations has written a previous memo down regarding an offer an agent has given you...no one can override it...so yea..

and ohh..fuk rogers...i just got screwed by them..

Uh..have you never been on the HOFO retention thread? People have called in numerous times and almost each time they get a better and sweeter deal. Same instances on the RFD thread. Get your facts straight, please.

i did mention customer relations right?...they can overide all the other departments decisions.
but if customer relations writes a previous memo with the offers a previous representative offered...they won't give u more than that..

and...if u call a year or two later..of course they give u a better deal..but it doesnt get any better than the $25 retention plan nowadays....

i called mayb...5x times..asked the same stuff..they still said no..and they messed up my hup upgrade too..stupid rogers

Alphamale 09-12-2007 11:35 PM

You're semi-wrong. You're unlucky that each time you've called that you've ran into an obsticle. I once called into a CSR (the first bunch of people you can talk to) and said some mistakes were made on my account and that the Cust. Rel. people made a mistake. The CSR was able to correct it immediately and everything. Some people sign a NEW contract and 3 months later they can get a sweet ass deal. Some people call in lots of time (like you) and never get jack shit. I called in about 3 times before I got what I wanted. It really all depends. You have to read some of the stuff in HOFO and RFD to get a better understanding of what really goes on.

In the end it's more about luck and how reluctantant the CSR and Cust. Rel. person is.

wobuffet 09-12-2007 11:39 PM

^^ totally true
back then when rogers offered u 6months unlimited talk and unlimited txtin as a promotion (i think it was somethin like that) + free call id, voicemail and all that stuff when u sign a 3yr contract. right after my 6month promotion ended, i called customer relations and got myself a retention plan, finally got it on my second try =D

!Yaminashi 09-13-2007 08:27 AM

^I did the same thing.
Except I waited 2 weeks to call in :D

Mugen EvOlutioN 09-13-2007 02:42 PM

i got a pretty sweet deal too

$25 dollar

250 minutes day time, unlimited calling weekdays starting at 6pm unlimited weekend calling, ROgers to Rogers free

gotta complain to them again when 2009 arrive, cuz i will have the same plan minus rogers to rogers free

wobuffet 10-12-2007 06:10 PM

so anyways, i called in rogers customer relations today and got my second retention plan =D yay!
apparently, if i called before august 31st, i coulda gotten MUCH more free texts =( but oh well
here's the details
750 daytime minutes
unlimited evenings and weekends starting at 5pm
unlimited network calling (between rogers/fido)
free call id
free voicemail
125 free texts
total after fees/taxes = just under $45

just for the fun of it, also got a K790a for $80

WTF....
i only have..
150 daytime
unlimited E/W @ 6
unlimited incoming
unlimited network - network
$10 comm pack

all for the low low price of just under $60

what did you do to get yours...? i just want more daytime.. :(

wobuffet 10-12-2007 11:05 PM

basically, you just have to sound like a noob when talking to them...sighh, yea i know it IS a bit hard lol
i juz told them
i wanna cancel my plan cuz my previous bill went up to $180
i told them some BS plan telus was giving me LOL (500daytime, e/w @6pm, call id, txts)
then the lady gave me a bunch of choices, and the 750daytime is on a promotion right now, 50% off
so you should call in when it's still available
also told them my V3 razr (which i got for free almost 2yrs ago) does NOT turn on anymore, so i bought a new battery, and still doesn't work, and she's like, we'll also give you a bluetooth headset for free to make up for the extra battery you bought (which i didn't LOL!)

damn, i love my plan now =)
i'm gonna have soo many extra daytime minutes lol, 90% of my calls are gonna be within network calling anyways so...w/e

good luck with it jeff ^^
