I have no issue with a fat asian girl being in the movie, but her role in the movie had NO point and, so far as any of us can tell, she was ONLY there to check off some diversity boxes. THAT is what I don't like.

So you're saying you would've been okay with that shitty plot if she was a fat white girl. Gotcha.

Umm what movie did you watch?

whitev70r 12-19-2017 10:11 PM

Last Jedi ... 6.5/10. Didn't love it, didn't hate it.

Daddy's Home 2: 7/10
Good mindless humor.

Verdasco 12-21-2017 05:02 PM

murder on the orient express
8/10

great film. really great cast imo

Star Wars: The Last Jedi
6/10

I enjoyed more than half of it. Got bored through a bit of it. Don't see myself watching it more than a couple of times. Enjoyed The Force Awakens a bit more.

I can see why some people would really like the movie. I can see why people would really hate the movie. To me it's kind of like an Adam Sandler movie, just turn your brain off and watch it and you will find it enjoyable.

SkinnyPupp 12-21-2017 09:02 PM

Like it or hate it, please don't compare it to a fucking adam sandler movie WutFace

Yah sure, you got it... it's so simple and you know me so well, asshat :ahwow:

Go ahead and accept pandering as a substitute for diversity then, silly me for expecting more intelligence from the general populace... it's just a movie after all right?

Same one you did, tell me one thing that would have changed if her (and Finn's for that matter) character had been removed entirely? Run time would have been ~30 minutes or so shorter and zero changed to the plot. It did culminate in a scene that enables Disney to spawn off a trilogy+ of child Jedi movies with those cute little kids I guess! Won't that be profitab... I mean... adorable?

Maybe it will end up being a bridge of sorts with something happening in Ep9 (though I wouldn't count on it given how many storylines from Force Awakens got completely dropped/ignored), great, but why not have that bridge made with some sort of substance this go-round?

What I dont understand is why was it Finn and Rose that went on this ever so important mission and not the guy who we've seen do a few missions that are of the up most importance.

Po is just sitting on the transport ship for the entire long, slow, drawn out space chase doing nothing but yelling at the new admiral.

As a character Po is a hot head and wants to do things himself or his way. So he sends a guy who just woke up from a recover pod and a random engineer girl who probably has 0 combat/mission experience. Later we see that there are pilots/soldiers who are on his side that help him in the mutiny. Why not send them? They are at least trained in some form of combat/espionage etc.

The Rose character could have been better if she was a pilot like Po who watched her sister sacrifice herself in combat. Instead we get a helpless engineer girl.

end rant.

PSA: There is a Star Wars thread for discussing deets and plots.

I won't go into spoilers here, but you are trying so hard to be right it's not even funny. Yeah let's remove 40 minutes from a movie, it'll be just the same either way. Nevermind that they used it to explain the whole entire theme of the movie, explaining why other important things happened, and has major foreshadowing for the entire Star Wars Universe going forward

Just give up man, I know you're better than this. It's not a "substitute for diversity". I think you may be hanging around with the wrong crowd if you start thinking like this. They are turning you dumb LUL

Star Wars The Last Jedi - 1/5

as someone who loved ep. 4-6, i really really hated this movie

i can come up with a huge list but the most wtf thing is what they did with the Luke character, its very sad

keifun 12-24-2017 11:12 PM

Star Wars Episode 8: 2.5/5

I found it a bit too long. A lot of useless stuff in the movie they could of cut out. Like others have said, it got a bit boring with the side stories.

thought it was decent movie but wasn't an A class movie. The climax for the movie was pretty legit to be honest.

sorry my ratings are misleading at times. if I enjoy the movie it gets a pretty high rating. lol

Also agree the climax for the movie was legit and intense

6.5/10 Too weird for my liking.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets

7/10

I know this movie wasn't received with accolades, but it has a special place in my movie library. It's a fun movie to watch. It gives me 5th Element vibes, and I like it. I don't care for the main actress, but the screenplay makes her almost likeable.

The intro sequence of nations and aliens visiting the station always fills me with (false) hope of the future :)

Jumanji 2017 7/10

It was a really well-done, fun action movie. Jack Black and The Rock filled their roles quite nicely.
