well ionno imo, I just think n&f goes a bit overboard with their crazy designs and stuff... I don't know if it would even be suitable for casual wear. It wouldn't seem as practical to wear jeans that fade into red or jeans that glow in the dark unless its part of an event costume.. But just curious, but how popular are these types of jeans on the market? how fast do they get sold?

PJ 01-29-2012 03:20 PM

I'd assume they still get sold.. It's just business building.
They have their signature fits and styles which are always selling steadily.
And to keep the brand current and developing, they branch out with collabs, accessories, and those other "crazy designs."

I have a question regarding the different type of Twills...

What is the difference between Broken Twill, Left hand twill, and Right hand twill? Is there a difference on how it feels and the outcome of the fades?

Not really racist! 01-29-2012 04:46 PM

N&F lovers wouldn't mind spending some money on "exclusive jeans" anyways. Just another way for the company to make money, regardless their classic jeans sell pretty well

The direction the material is woven.. Left goes to the left, right goes to the right, and broken zigzags down.

People say that left-hand twill feels softer, or broken twill fades faster.. but I doubt there's much difference. If there is, it's probably miniscule.

Quote:

Right hand twill: flatter and smoother surface

Left hand twill: Usually wears down softer than right hand twill, more vertical fade

Both left and right hand twill can experience leg twist and so…

Broken twill was developed to combat this.
from some denim blog

Yeah I do get your point... I'm a n&f lover too but I just don't see myself spending money on anything else beside their classics... Perhaps I have yet to encounter a n&f obssessed lover :ahwow:

^ Haha I'm getting there.
I just love the brand for their ethics and authenticity. And of course, they're Canadian. :)
I'm considering picking up one of their wallets or belts.

I could see their elephant weight jeans being a good choice for the winter.

im having an issue with the construction of the n&f wallet, so i wouldnt buy one if i were you.

Brandon from N&F is helping resolve it though, so i'll give an update later.
specifically the glue job in the inside is kind of shoddy.
if you want a nice leather wallet i'd prob try tanner or corter.

PJ 01-30-2012 04:30 PM

Yeah, I wouldn't buy one unless I checked it out in person. Was gonna head over to Dutil this week, but I guess I'll hold off.

I like the stitching and the fact that it's all hand made.

Probably for the better, nothing wrong with my current wallets anyways lol

wyuzz 01-30-2012 04:48 PM

I recently sold my tf nudies because I didnt like the fact that it made my legs skinner than it already is. I'm planning to get a pair of N&Fs, which model would fit closet to slim Jim's and do I have to size down? Thanks

PJ 01-30-2012 04:54 PM

Slim Guy, and yes size down.

Slim Guy is actually a bit too straight for my liking, but maybe that's what you're looking for.

fs604 01-30-2012 04:55 PM

anybody thinking of getting the new greencasts from n&f? they look quite appealing to me...:ahwow:

G 01-30-2012 05:30 PM

^I am thinking of buying it. Dutil has it in WeirdGuy's, but I want to try to find the skinny guy's to try out a new fit....

Anyone know who else carries greencasts besides dutil?

I just went on the online shop of Underworld and they have it in stock. You might want to call the store though just in case it's online only.

Anyone know if Plenty will carry the Wax Indigos or the Indigo/Indigos?

The Best Jeans to Buy Now « SharpForMen.com

N&F's 32oz. is on the list too, photo 10 of 10.

I saw that too. They have it at the cheapest price from what I've seen online. Called the store, they don't have it. They said the online store reflects mostly the Montreal store and does not relate as much to the Granville store. :okay:

unit 01-30-2012 09:29 PM

i think that list is kind of laughable.
they lose all credibility when they recommend joe fresh and citizens, and thats just the first page.

and not saying anything bad about n&f, but you're out of your mind if you pay $500 for n&f jeans, even if they are 32oz.
pay the $350 instead and get some iron heart 21oz.

PJ 01-31-2012 09:49 AM

^ exactly what I thought when I saw Joe's.
More of an entertainment article for me

That list isnt TOO bad, it does include edwins, sammies, nudies, apc, n&f. Some of the suggestions are kind of laughable though

Same. 514 is my favorite cut.

incubus 01-31-2012 05:33 PM

how about the red core did dutil have any

G 01-31-2012 05:54 PM

^Red Core is a Barney's CO-OP Exclusive. I think Dutil might be able to special order it for you but you will need to pay the full price before they order it. Call and ask!

RevYouUp 01-31-2012 05:57 PM

im probably going to get a pair of skinny guys for my next pair..which one would you guys go for? broken twill or elephant 2s?
