Oh, damn, sup. How was the sale?

supershopper 12-26-2011 03:40 PM

i was admiring your jeans the whole time, what are they?

but yeah, i guess it was decent, minimum 10% off all items, then 15%,20%,30%,50% and 60%. I only really checked out N&F though, all the special fabrics/ jeans like selvedge duck, momotaro, big john, tweed were all 30% off. Regular indigo selvedge was only 10%
The boxes weren't that bad either, my friend got a pair of denham for 120 originally 260, and I overheard someone saying they saw jeans for a buck.
After you guys left though, it took another half hour to get in.

G 12-26-2011 04:58 PM

Naked and Famous Frankensteins

30% is not bad. I kind of just wanted to check out the boxes in the back. 1$ jeans is impressive..
But damn, 30 min after would mean that took 1 hr and 15 to get in, and we were pretty early in the line..

haha i walked by the dutil lineup early this morning, like 10am. undefeated pullover, undefeated varsity jacket and umbrella. think i saw your friend, G

G 12-26-2011 11:46 PM

^I saw you. I can spot a hypebeaster from a mile away haha. Livestock Umbrella right? All black?

- kT 12-26-2011 11:58 PM

FFFFFFFUUUUUUU- i was wearing green apple nudie x atriums! so not hypebeast :D unless you're using hypebeaster as a compliment

but yeah livestock umbrella. some dude in line locked eyes with me for the entire time i was walking by. was homo as hell

G 12-27-2011 12:08 AM

Probably me. I was standing next to my friend. Mirin' your umbrella. :hay:

nohomo.

- kT 12-27-2011 12:10 AM

haha naw it wasn't you. the guy was around the corner and just locked eyes with me

i got the umbrella for free last year actually haha. first 5 in line at livestock got em!

G 12-27-2011 12:13 AM

^Hypebeaster. Anyways, did you go to livestock? I was thinking of going around Gastown but I forgot my umbrella and I was pretty soaked from waiting at Dutil. Any good deals?

I kind of gave up on Livestock after the "meh" sample sale they had..

- kT 12-27-2011 12:23 AM

straight hypebeastin :fuckyea:

yeah i feel bad for anybody without an umbrella early in the morning. i left it in my car after i hopped on the skytrain, took one look outside and went back to grab it. it was pouring but it let out closer to noon

yeah i roamed gastown for a long while. went to all the usual places (alife, livestock, complex, stussy) - only places worth going to IMO were stussy and alife. alife stuff was CHEAP, got a pair of shoes for $30. stussy had deals like no tomorrow too. livestock would be worth it if you're into the stuff they were selling but i couldn't find a single thing i liked. complex barely had anything going for cheap, 1 item 10%, 2 20%, 3 30%

got a stussy crewneck for 35, 2 tees for 30 and those alife shoes for 30. 95 before taxes for a pretty good haul so i was satisfied. i didn't even bother with dutil with that line up, and i figured most of the smaller waist sizes would be gone by the time i got in anyway. what stores did you end up hitting up?

instantneedles 12-27-2011 12:30 AM

Did you guys check out plenty? I felt pretty bad for the sales today because there was a whole group of ppl that took a huge stack of jeans to try on, only to shove them back at the sales associates in the end. Imo if u went to plenty early enough, you would have dug up some pretty good deals on denim. Everything else was pretty shit tho.

But for those of you that went to dutil, did you guys participate in the advertisement contest for the free pair of jeans? I really like how dutil puts effort into creating these kinds of events. It really keeps the boxing day spirit going.

I picked up a pair of grim tim dry dirt organic for 90$, tiny bit tight, anybody have this?
how much does this stretch?

$90 for a pair of Nudies is not bad at all.
I scored a pair of Nudies Slim Jims for ~$100 as well.

I hear Nudies stretch about an inch in waist size.

Yeah.. usually a week before Plenty does the 50% off they usually put them on 25% off first.. which is when most of the "good sizes" are sold

How was the Holt sale?

Saw the nudies but I'm not a fan so I left em there. LOL! Went to Plenty late today and found a pair of 28 N&F wierd guy I beleive. Didn't even check but I tried em on and LOL! Size down 2 sizes my ass. Those didn't even pass my knees and I spent the majority of the time trying to pry them off. Looks like full price N&F for me.

Really? I though plenty was decent. I went lining up at 7:30 and was one of the first ones there. There were tons of sizes available still... the only problem that might have happened was like I had said... alot of lbs were taking stacks of jeans to try on, and yet deciding not to take them..

These were a gift from my brother for Christmas. They were purchased from a local boutique called Swank in Winnipeg

G 12-28-2011 02:30 PM

How do you guy's compare N&F to Nudies?

I still have to use my stupid J2 gift card and the only good things they have are Nudies (their store isn't the best..) and just wanted to know how the fit's are fades etc etc.

Inputs please?
