Has anybody had their applications from the app store stop working after a sync? I get that every sync and its fucking annoying.

Ch28 08-06-2008 01:26 AM

Question about iTunes and when you guys sync.

My phone hasn't been able to sync since last night.

I try syncing it and it'll just keep saying "Sync in Progress" on my phone and "Syncing "iPhone"" in iTunes.

There are no open windows so I have no idea what to do to fix it :o

Ch28 08-08-2008 04:23 PM

I was forced to restore to 1.1.4 and run iLiberty

SDU 08-09-2008 04:05 PM

a little off topic. I have been researching on the web about the Wifi issues. Has anyone on this board dealt with it? I have tried pretty much every method listed on the web except the hardware replacement.

So far it seems that a hardware solutions is the only way to go. All the others are just temporary fixes..

If I bring my iphone back to the states (where I bought it) would they replace it? Or could I let the Apple tech guys take a look at it?

Thanks in advance.

From what I know... Apple no longer really cares for the first gen iPhone...

Ikkaku 08-09-2008 04:51 PM

as with all their older products, they don't give a hoot about them anymore.

plus if you bring it back to the states and they notice your phone is unlocked and stuff, it's not covered under warranty anymore... unless you're willing to fork out money to figure it out.

SDU 08-10-2008 09:47 PM

Is there any way where I can lock the phone so that they cannot figure out that I have unlocked it?

Can I get a prepaid sim from ATT and just put it in the iphone?

URGENT 1st GEN IPHONE HELP!

So today I finally decided to update my 1st gen iphone because of those stupid annoying update popups from Itunes.
So as im updating to the newer version on Itunes, an error message pops up.
The message popped up when the update was almost complete. Now my phone is frozen, wont turn off or on, and stuck with the stupid apple logo in the middle with the background all black and the stupid loading circle.
Even worse when I connect to Itunes, my phone wont even read. Say's no Iphone detected..
WTF DO I DO?!

KLOv3 08-20-2008 03:28 PM

bring it to JP =]

Harvey Specter 08-20-2008 04:03 PM

Do a hard restart, hold the circle and the power botton for 20 seconds or so and your phone will restart.

artmotion 08-20-2008 04:06 PM

You may have botched the update. Try putting it into DFU Mode not restore mode! These are actually different. From there try the update again and I really hope you didn't go past 2.0 if you're a windows user and 2.0.1 if you're a mac user.

RiceFarmer 08-20-2008 10:26 PM

^ whats dfu mode?
itunes cant even detect my phone no more..
and what do you mean go past 2.0 if im a pc user...

mrks 08-20-2008 10:55 PM

Clearly you didn't know what you are doing. It would be best you paid someone to get it fixed.

RiceFarmer 08-20-2008 11:09 PM

okay so itunes now detects my phone but now this is what it says

"The sim card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported. Only compatible sim cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iphone. please insert the sim card that came with your phone or visit a supported carrier's store to recieve a replacement sim card"

so wtf? my sim card is from fido. It has worked all this time until i stupidly updated.
what does that message mean?

DJ_505 08-20-2008 11:42 PM

im pretty sure it means ur phone is locked again.....

kenvu 08-20-2008 11:51 PM

your phone is locked again with ATT if you upgrade to FW 2.0.2 then you have to wait for a jailbreak Dev team still working on it.

kenvu 08-21-2008 04:50 AM

Ronin 08-21-2008 06:30 AM

2.0.2 quickpwn came out this morning. Use at your own risk.

Ronin 08-21-2008 01:07 PM

I easily downgraded a phone that originally had 1.0.2 from 2.0.2 to 2.0.1. Then it's a breeze to unlock.

RiceFarmer 08-21-2008 01:44 PM

^ do you have a site that has the step by step process?

Amuse 08-25-2008 03:11 PM

I have the 1st gen iPhone from Sept 07. I jb/ unlocked it to 1.0.2 fw.
It works great, nice and fast.
But I want to update it to 2.0.1

Will it be slower? Any disadvantages or advantages of upgrading?

How do I go from 1.0.2 to 2.0.1 EASILY with no errors?
