Hyde 07-23-2008 11:21 PM

does it unlock the 2.0 after update?

cspec 07-23-2008 11:33 PM

yes it does!

ienhz 07-24-2008 12:11 AM

winpwn 2.0 is out

+Kardboard+ 07-24-2008 12:29 AM

As is Pwnage Tool 2.01, which fixes some bugs.

I know but I haven't used the program yet so I'm kinda scared of touching it lol

Whats the pros/cons of updating to 2.0?? I'm on 1.1.4 right now

babyshortie 07-24-2008 07:33 AM

^ i'm wondering the same thing

cspec 07-24-2008 08:38 AM

there are just some minor updates...
you can now officially upload your sim contacts after 2.0... chinese writing...

but to be honest, there are like no apps out for 2.0, so if games and design are what you want in the iphone, wait a bit, because like i said, there are NO quality free apps whatsoever, and the good apps you have to pay for are still glitchy.

ienhz 07-24-2008 10:19 AM

lol i wouldn't really call chinese writing and the app store minor updates... but anyways, i NEED summerboard, mxtube, mobilecast, etc. so i'm going to wait for installer to be updated for 2.0 before i upgrade.

stuff99 07-24-2008 12:22 PM

is it possible to copy your contacts back to your sim yet?

cspec 07-24-2008 12:26 PM

^ i don't believe so.

and ienhz, i just meant that it's minor in comparison to what you could do in 1.1.4 in terms of what you can modify

dicecube 07-24-2008 05:26 PM

anyone ever buy their iPhone off of facebook marketplace?

brand new 16gb iphones for $200-250ish

any feedback/experiences on that?

cspec 07-24-2008 05:55 PM

^ a lot of them are scams

skholla 07-24-2008 09:32 PM

ive been using a 1st gen iphone for a year and i absolutely love it. with the small (you have to be a super nerd to complain about them) comprises when compared to other phones (that have horrible interfaces and designs) it is still the best phone that i have used, hands down. i wont give fogers a dime of my money for their overpriced data so i use wifi.... and contracts? forget them!!! 6gb for $30 a month is an SUB-PAR deal but i am not signing on for 36 months. plus after your voiceplan, valuepack, fees and taxes you are almost at $100 a month...

i upgraded to fw2.0 recently using pwnage tool 2.01, the small feature upgrades are neat, there are still small others i would like to see. i have noticed a reduction in capacity by 200mb. it seems that the new fw is larger, also a bitter slower. has anyone noticed the same? my phone has frozen a couple times since the upgrade (acutally full restore to 2.0), and i had to do a hard power off. also the interface has become unresponsive a couple times for about 30 seconds or so. any one have the same issue? i will probably reflash it soon and see it that helps.

+Kardboard+ 07-24-2008 10:50 PM

Mine is a bit faster.

cspec 07-25-2008 01:06 AM

hmm.. mine is a bit slower too... what'd you do kardboard? lol

skholla 07-25-2008 08:11 AM

the sluggishness is kind of annoying, maybe this weekend i will reflash and make a new custom fw image without the pineapple. i heard that fw2.1 is coming down the pipe and may bring copy-cut-paste functionality, i cant wait!!!

cspec 07-25-2008 08:12 AM

i'm confused on how copy-cut-past would work on a touchscreen phone

skholla 07-25-2008 08:24 AM

im not sure either but i have been wanting it since day one. i can only guess that it there would be a button on the bottom that would enter a highlight mode. on entered you would press and hold your finger on the screen (like using the zoom tool) to drag across text. once selected you would then press the highlight button again to choose copy-cut-paste.

Smiley 07-25-2008 10:17 AM

upgraded my iPhone last night to 2.0 and it's also a bit slower too.

Magic? I dunno.

dicecube 07-26-2008 09:24 PM

Is anyone selling their 2g phone? pm me pls

ienhz 07-29-2008 07:10 PM

so does 2.0 feel REALLY slow? i was thinking of upgrading to it but is it really that slow or is it just a minor thing?

skholla 07-29-2008 07:21 PM

dont do it man, its not worth it.... wait until the next version comes out, 2.01 or 2.1, whatever it is hopefully it will fix a few outstanding issues like this one.

Levitron 07-29-2008 08:10 PM

2.0 has some known problems with speed.

What you guys are experiencing isn't abnormal because Apple seemed to have rushed this release.
