meh at least they came back a little..

Razor Ramon HG 12-26-2008 10:01 PM

Was at the game. First time I sat at lower-bowl, and boy did I underestimate how close and exhilarating it is. Unfortunately I didn't bring a camera because I thought I was sitting in the balcony (friend invited me).

Game was overall quite good. The only reason we lost was because of the undiciplined play in the first half IMO. Those two 3v5s killed us in the long run, but it was nice to see the Canucks trying to come back trailing down by 3 goals.

LOL... I hate when people say this! I know what you (or the hockey analysts) are trying to say, but I still hate this phrase.

Don't mind me. I'm trying to get drunk off of rum-filled chocolates.

hotjoint 12-26-2008 11:17 PM

we need luongo back asap......

MarkyMark 12-26-2008 11:34 PM

2 of the goals were 5 on 3 not even Roberto "the answer to every problem" Luongo is going to stop 5 on 3's for an extended period of time...Sanford is doing good it's the rest of the team that can't stop taking penalties that is fucking everything up.

I love how the crowd at GM place is yelling at the Canucks to shoot the bloody puck. I mean seriously what the fuck is up with all the fancy passes or just too many passes when you have a chance to just shoot the puck? Most of the passes lately have been flat out giveaways or turning into scoring chances with odd man rushes the other way.

haha...yeah...no kidding. They pass too much, and are too slow to shoot when they do have the puck. By the time they get the puck, settle it down, move so they shooting from their natural side, then take the shot, the opposition has had a chance to get into a blocking position, and the goalie can clearly see it.

The Canucks have got to be way faster about shooting instead of passing and hoping to catch someone out of position.

They also need to put some bodies in front of the net. I don't know how many times the puck has slid right past the blue paint and no one is there to tip it in. It totally pissed me off when the Canucks were out 6 on 4 in the final few minutes and they had 4 players passing to each other around the perimeter, while the other two were kinda skating around, not really blocking the goalies view and standing square in the crease for the tip in. Other teams manage to get 1-2 guys in front of the goalie for the tip in or the rebound or just to get in the way. I don't see why the Canucks can't do the same thing. A goal is a goal, whether it's garbage, or a pretty highlight reel one. Goals win the game...not fancy plays...

:werd: cycling the puck may look nice on the highlights but if you dont put a shot towards the net, it isnt going to do any good for you. We need to get some bodies in front of the goalie and some quick shots, garbage goals and rebound goals are always there. We dont always need to have a wide open net (even though me miss many times on those as well)

Hey Canucks, I hear there's a new thing called the one-timer. Look into it.

Hondaracer 12-27-2008 12:44 PM

ohlund is incappable of one timers, same with bieksa, both would rather cradle the puck, let a defender go down to block, and then shoot

TAYLOR PYLON INJURED 4-8 WEEKS

OH YES!!!

i know its kinda silly being happy for an injury, but for once AV will be forced to ice the best team possible. despite his mancrush on the pylon.

xyz123 12-27-2008 04:02 PM

lol, i still say Mason Raymonds shot was very nice.. hit the defenders stick and top shelfed it, very unexpected. In addition a pretty good thrill ride on the 3rd period. I was full of suspense during the last 5 minutes of the game.

Hondaracer 12-27-2008 04:44 PM

i knew pyatt was going to be hurt when it happened on the ice

Razor Ramon HG 12-27-2008 08:16 PM

Wow, did anyone else see Aucoin's goal just now? Fucking amazing pass, and an equally as good shot.

mako 12-27-2008 08:35 PM

tonyzoomzoom 12-27-2008 09:31 PM

Doesn't this have a lot to with the coaching staff and how they train them? Blame it on them....
