Balanced attack FTW! |
Kesler and Burrows will stay 3rd liners, not because they get easier defencement to go against, but because they are our shutdown forward line which goes against the TOP line. just because you arent on the first line, doesnt make you less important. Kris Draper has been one of the most important players in Detroit forever. |
its called checking line for a reason |
oh man. look what i've started...haha. kesler has always been the goal scorer his whole career. your role changes once you hit the nhl. he simply just added another skill to his resume. even if he can be a top 6 forward, at the moment he's excelling from his checking role. he's turning into an all around player, imo, what a good hockey player should be. if he plays his cards right, he'll have a very good career. btw..........keslers the next captain!!!!!:haha::haha::haha::haha: |
Mitchell would get it way before Kesler |

Some people on here seem to believe Jovanovski left Vancouver strictly for the money. However when his contract expired, Vancouver never bothered to even make him an offer. He won a gold medal in 2002 on a team selected by Gretzky. Of course Jovanovski will be loyal and will play for Wayne. Anyways for some merchandise news; the Vancouver Canucks will be releasing a WHITE Skate logo jersey (replica only, no authentics just like the black one last year) sometime in November. It'll be exclusive to the Canucks Team Store. |

How the hell was Linden part of the core? I think you need someone to explain to you what a core player is. Being a CORE player means you are the center of the team. You are what the GM builds around. I did say Kesler is part of the core but burrows is a career 3rd/4th liner. He's good at what he does and thats it. Kesler is a career 3rd line checking center men. He doesn't have the vision or finesse to be a second liner. Linden missed over 20 games due to being scratched, his role was very limited the last few years. |

Datsuyk playoff carreer stats --> 54 pts in 82 games Kesler's --> a big fat ZERO You lose. |

so players that come out of no where and become great on an already great team is normal, yet expecting a first round draft pick to turn into a good second/first liner is unrealisitc? i dont see where your logic is coming from, of course in hindsight looking at players who develop from nothing into somthing you can always say they were destined for greatness they had the skillset etc. imo you seem to know more about other teams then the team being discussed within this thread, your definition of a "core" player is way off imo and I could spend hours showing prime examples of players who meant everything to their team while being off the radar or players who u wouldnt consider building a team around persay, but in alot of ways those players are the strongest links of a team, but in alot of ignorant fans eyes, they are expendable at any price. |

I know the Canucks roster pretty well. I just didn't agree people saying Burrows is a core player. Canucks could lose him and you won't notice a thing in the standings. |

Some of the most reasonable comments I have heard in the past bit here. |

... apperently you know alot more about hockey than every scout/gm in the nhl. you can tell a 1st round player will never be as good as a late-round player. |

if you were so great at scouting why arent you a scout? You said that watching D and Z at there first games u can totally tell their superstars and Kesler is not |
