OT: Asian hockey league? http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/2...ey_caps114.jpg Silicon Valley Sports and Entertainment chief executive Greg Jamison announces a new hockey team, the China Sharks, during a news conference in San Jose, Calif., Thursday, Sept. 17, 2008. The China Sharks will be located in Shanghai and be part of the Asian League. Also....Nazzy takes #91 as a NYR http://assets.nydailynews.com/img/20...md_rangers.jpg |
here you go.... http://www.alhockey.com/ apparently, the China Sharks are sponsered by the san jose sharks |
wow, an Asian league? That's got to be interesting. But seriously, I've always thought hockey wasn't a big thing in asia. I have to say some of the team names are pretty funny. HIGH1 Paper Cranes?!? lol |
Asians playing hockey...uh...doesn't usually turn out well. This is all you need to know. |
haha. i remember that. but seriously, the japanese are now arguably the best players out of all of the asian countries. Quote:

ahh cant get any tickets to the linden game |
^^ same =\ I did manage to get a few games sitting in the first few rows in the club section so i'm pretty stoked for that. Plus I already have a 11 game ice pak =) |

Yeah, I don't know what level of skill they are at, but I'm sure a handful of asian players born in Canada that have been playing all their life can easily make it on their team. They should have some rule where only citizens of asia can play, but then I guess it's not that bad of a think to import players there. At least it can help make the asia-born people there better since they have canadian-asian "superstars" to learn from. On average, how big are those asian players? Do they play aggressive and play with size like here, or are they more european? (not to say not all europeans don't hit) |

I got tickets to the Leafs, Senators, Canadiens, Lightning, and last home game of the season with the Kings. |
My guess is that all tickets for Dec17 were sold out already. The same thing happened last year for the Pittsburgh game! I got mine, but paid a LOT for them. :( Edit: They actually look pretty cool: http://photos-f.ak.facebook.com/phot...22805_7389.jpg |
Pathetic, the scalpers already placed them on Craigslist. Ruins the fan experience for everyone else. I just hope Sportsnet or TSN has it in HD. |
^ looks like it will be on sportsnet so it should be HD. There's still tickets to other games but I don't think I'll be going to games this year. |
Got a pair of Leafs tickets Nov 15 so I'm happy. That will be a hot ticket with all the Leaf fans. Plus it's great for people on Vancouver Island because we can actually get back the same day and not have to pay for a hotel. I never have any luck online it always says I am over the maximum times to enter the site. |
Kinda sucks that scalpers got all the tickets. They should only be sold to fans that actually want to go see the game themselves. Although I know going there in person seeing it is quite an experience, I would rather watch it on TV with good clear view instead of watch it at GM Place with crappy seats and can't see anything clearly. |
^ my girlfriend prefers watching on tv because she "knows whats going on" me, i like seeing the whole scope of watching plays develop... it doesn't matter where you are, you still see the big picture. |
Isn't scalping illegal? If so, then shouldn't the police find them easy to catch as scalpers advertise in CL or etc? |
That linden tix looks pretty nice. how much did u pay for them if you don't mind me asking? |

It is illegal in the U.S., though. If you want cheap Canucks tickets, wait till the puck drops and then buy your tickets from a scalper because their face value obviously diminishes quickly. Of course a scalper's goal is to get rid of his tickets before the game starts but sometimes and oftentimes you get lucky. Of course, if you're not interested in missing the first 5-10 mins of the 1st period, or you are not interested in finding some random seats where you would otherwise never like to sit, buying scalpers tickets generally aren't in your best interest. |

bah.. I know he never played in NY but it's just a rare number that's all. And I like Sergei. It's no biggie really. I guess it's not a shame, I take that back lol |
