It's intimidating at first and will take some practice to get used to it, but you're missing out on a lot of the game by sticking with classic controls.

RRxtar 09-22-2008 05:11 PM

you definitly have to use the new controls to experience the game. play around in practice mode for abit and you really get the hang of it

s3an 09-22-2008 06:01 PM

new control arn't even hard, after a game or two your set.

Nah i still use classic controls and find it fine playing this game with them. The only things you arent able to do are the stick lifts and the protection of the puck. Imo the poke check is the best defense. My friend tried to stick left me a few times and he got high sticking penalties every time.

Line 1 on the Nucks in BAP with Ribeiro and Bernier
Demitra got traded and the Sedins are on Line 2 with GRABNER

Is there a Revscene club/league goin' on or what?

pauche 09-24-2008 02:33 PM

I got demoted from the first line with Daniel and Demitra :( even though I am tied with Demitra for the team scoring. I guess I should not call for the puck all the time.

RRxtar 09-24-2008 05:00 PM

it sounds like most people, including me, got demoted from the first line to the 2nd line for a few games, no matter how well they are playing. i think its just written into the game as a reality check kind of thing.

i went moose 3 - 2 -1 canucks 3 - 2 - 1 - 2 -1

jlo mein 09-25-2008 03:50 AM

I wanted to get my Pro card, so in my Be A Pro I just simulated about 30 games. In that time I somehow went from the Canucks 1st line down to the Moose's 3rd line...

terkan 09-25-2008 08:20 AM

lol well obviously ~ you are only a 79 to start.. you won't get much points if you simulate :S hmm i havent been demoted from the first line yet and i've been there for about 25 games now ~ meh i'm still scoring like crazy.. but hardly getting any assist.. my linemate sux.. henk can't score.. and bernier keep missing the net -_- (ya i demoted daniel to the second line lol)

ienhz 09-25-2008 02:39 PM

No, the coach's AI in this game is just messed up. You can simulate games and average 2 pts/game in the simulations and your coach will still demote you. Even if you're the leading scorer in the NHL, you'll still get demoted.

you can trade in any 2 08 games (nhl, tiger woods, nba live etc) and pay $9.99 at eb for NHL 09. I got my copy of NHL 09 for $20 brand new from a hook up at EA

^ why didn't you give the nucks a hometown discount. lol

stuff99 09-26-2008 12:22 PM

its a virtual game, getting more cash doesnt mean much does it?

the_rickster 09-26-2008 12:28 PM

its funny right... everyone says "i would take a home team discount" when the conversation is about greedy star athletes and then here those same people are, in a PRETEND game, taking the PRETEND cash to play somewhere else.

money talks. real or fake.

hi5-ive 09-26-2008 01:48 PM

i want my name on virtual stanley cup lol so i would look at the team and sign.

haha nah. I've played about 10 sessions and they are pretty good. 1 session really made me mad because one of the players on my team was such a puck hog and would never pass to any of us, always trying to go in by himself.

411ken 10-02-2008 10:52 AM

Definitely nice if ppl play together and nobody quits. Anyone here on Xbox 360? post your gamertag and i'll add you guys so we can perhaps have a team game or something.
