So what ever became of Kellan Tochkin? I knew him and his family when he was a little kid. A bit of a cocky little kid back then. I used to bug him that he wouldn't make it into the NHL. I knew he was good even at that age, but at the same time it used to get him going when someone bugged him about his size. I've lost touch with his family, but noticed his name come up with the Canucks not that long ago.

At this point still a long shot to make the NHL. He was undrafted, invited to a tryout to the Canucks prospect camp, impressed enough that they signed him to an entry level contract. So the Nucks basically got a free 7th round pick, he's at main camp right now. Tochkin has good hands and is a good playmaker, but he is very small, shys away from contact and isn't the best skater with very average speed.

Oh well. I feel bad for poking fun at him. Still a possibility, I guess.


So today's game is on at 7:30, not 7:00 as stated on the web site. Can't wait. Hope it's in HD.
