It's not a "3rd period shutdown strategy". It's called the other team is is doing its best to tie the game up. And, the Sharks are not a lame team.

The Canucks played well. Kept up with a pretty good team. Yes, they made a few mistakes, but overall a good game. I don't think shutdown was in their plans.

Can't see the game from one side only. The way the other team plays is pretty important.

Tim Budong 03-18-2010 08:47 PM

What the sharks did in the 3rd was your typical San Jose Shark attack, come at you in waves in which no matter how "shut down" your team is, one of those 2/3 lines they roll out will beat you.

Good for the canucks for trying to shut it out, and even better amazing effort by Luongo. Its those moments that Luongo needs to be Luongo. Tonight was another example on why he is a premier goalie in the league

He's pretty good when he's on his game.

We'll see if he can string a few games like that during the playoffs.

"Cause if he can, with the kind of offense we have this year, the "Nucks will be extremely hard to beat.

OMFG, that Bridgestone commercial was.......... um............. awesome.

The one with the killer whale in the back of a Chevy Avalanche.

Luongo for sure needs to string these games together, in the Olympics, he needed to be good, not great with how the team is in front of him. I really hope that he will be able to shut the door when it all counts

did i hit the spot?

so did anyone see Mike Rupp's no look shot, that was pretty sweet

back to matt cooke, good for the Bruins fans to give the standing O towards the Thornton/Cooke fight. I thot it was a very nice gesture.

the media scrum for cooke, Cooke mentioned Vancouver how he's been a part of it

That was the last time he dropped em. Good for him.

and in other news, MSG will air next wednesdays NYR vs NYI tilt in HD3D

woooo:haha:

Relax, it was my exaggeration for his poor play.

Here is my prediction and quote me on it. Grabner will go goalless for the next 5 games.
