I have been using the keyboard a fair ammount and it's not bad at all. I'm coming from the curve 8900 so this is a large jump for me. What are some good aps to DL?

2h1gh 09-30-2010 09:20 PM

I have yet to try it. Been hearing alot of cons bout this phone =/ Hopefully Bestbuy or Futureshop has a working demo or just a dummy phone. Wanna see how it feels in my hands haha

aznrsx1979 09-30-2010 10:02 PM

Only aps I've downloaded that I really use are the Weather Network, ScoreMobile and Yellowpages

murd0c 09-30-2010 10:33 PM

I just downloaded Poynt. It's one really nice app and Scoremobile is a must for everyone phone I have.

I'm just using the stealth guard...picked up 2 for $5 and does a good job. There's a post about them right now to.

FUUUUCK! My 9000 died on me today. Blackscreen + blinking red light.

Choked..

Thinking of dropping by Rogers tomorrow and renew my contract and hopefully get the Torch. I think there's a year left on my contract. How much do you think the phone will cost me?

199.99 + a $35 activation fee. I know a lot of places are sold out right now.

Hmmm looks interesting

http://www.otterbox.com/blackberry-c...r-series-case/

does it add much bulk to the phone? where did you get it from and how much? I can't seem to see a price on the website. Does it have a screen protector as well?

Found this on ebay but what is the normal going price?

http://cgi.ebay.ca/OtterBox-Commuter...item3a5eb4c5d7

I read a couple reviews and people said it's bulky and the top slides around and scraches the frame of the phone. Have you found any issues like that?

Tim Budong 10-02-2010 11:11 AM

I havent had any issues of it sliding around..unless its like..spinning the phone on the table..haha

how the top if made will scratch the bezel, but if your not rough with the phone, these designs work just as fine

murd0c 10-02-2010 02:19 PM

does anyone know the best way to remove the belt clip from the case? I like the case but can't stand the clip

suzuka84 10-03-2010 07:32 PM

I was in Seattle and the store wouldn't sell me the torch without a contract.

I'm sure it's a great phone but the processor speed is the same as the bold 9700 except the torch is running the new operating system. It still doesn't come close to the iphone or android phones. In the US, it seems most of the people in our age group are converting to android phones.

I've just got off the phone with Rogers, and they've sent me from profile > tech support > relations.

This is what I've gotten from them, I was on a 3 year old retention plan that they gave me back then and they gave me the same one but with NO SAF!! INstead its the cheaper version of it the 2.95 thing plus the 30 dollars 6 gb and the choice for me to upgrade into a blackberry 9800. I can't wait for the phone its a very good phone!!!

I'm pretty sure you could have negotiated better since you're signing another (assumed) 3 year term..

I just switched over to the 9800 from 9000 and been using it for a day and it seems to work pretty well. I do notice some lag randomly when using it though even though I haven't downloaded any apps on it yet. Also the BBM isn't showing the recent updates for most of my contacts, only a select few.. anyone else have that problem?

qwerty69 10-05-2010 10:29 AM

im thinking of upgrading to the torch from my 9700,but i heard of some bad reviews here and there...can anyone give any input on whether is a good upgrade from the 9700, aswell as some overall input on the 9800 itself

Only stores in the states that'll sell it to you without contract are Wal-mart and Best Buy. Well from what I found for WA state anyway. There's a few threads on HoFo about it.

Gh0stRider 10-05-2010 01:32 PM

its 549.00 at bestbuy in the states.

cheaper than getting it here.
