RIM is like a teenager in high school - trying to find an identity. Whereas Apple is like a young professional - knows where it's going.

all relative to iphone and blackberry.

Which is why blackberries outsell iPhones, right? It's all about securing your chunk then maximizing share outside of that.

Also: English plz?

keyboard doesn't look like it'll be easy to type on...looks so cramped and awkward.

skyxx 06-07-2010 01:22 AM

The photos of the phone actually looks great! Tempting.....

Mybad for the horrible Engrish.

Only reason BB outsells iphones is because of the corp market. I'm a bb user myself, but RIM has shifted its focus to the consumer market, and is trying to compete with the likes of apple. They should've stayed with the corp and stuck with the luxury price points. Let Apple and DROID battle it out in the consumer market.

As much as I love the 9700, I'll probably switch to the 9800 just for a change of pace and at least try out their first slider/keyboard phone.

Jegz 06-10-2010 12:54 AM

Alpine50 07-05-2010 07:47 PM

If I go from iPhone to bb I'm going to pick this up or the 9700

This is going to have the best of both worlds.

The only reason I haven't gone to android or iphone is because of the blackberry keyboard.
Now that this has both, it's an easy decision to upgrade from my 9700 to the 9800

I think I'm probably the only one that would be worried about the durability of the slider.
I've had tons of sliders in the past and only a handful of them were of satisfactory quality.

From what I've read on crackberry it seems like RIM tends to cheap out on parts/labor when they can which makes sense since these phones are mass produced.

If there have been tons of build issues thus far with candybar phones, imagine the headaches with a SLIDER..but I do like that huge screen real estate

Just my .02

greendb7 07-06-2010 11:37 PM

New video in english this time! seems sexier everyday almost no delay in touches. But it's kinda like an iphone in features don't you think? with the sliding of photos and settings for network, and music.

Probably to enter the "consumer market" and combat iphone sales, except it's got BB's awesome keypad which makes it just so much better than touchscreen texting.
