Fucking embarrassing shit for me in the NE18 shop. My oil cooler seal failed and I tracked oil from the shop door to where I parked it. Everyone stared at the gong show, especially since it pooled so badly outside the shop.

:fuuuuu:

da-suu 02-23-2011 06:49 PM

^LOL atleast u dont have to work on a stupid aluminum block.....

CorneringArtist 02-23-2011 08:35 PM

Dude, it's not that bad, its just tedious. I remember being on my knees, stroking back and forth until it was just right :troll:. Just wait until you have to tap holes for your threads.

JSALES had like 2 days to do it since AST is accelerated.

Give me a shout tomorrow if you want, I'll be replacing that seal. I'm the biggest guy in our area lol.

Porschedog 02-23-2011 09:21 PM

I saw that haha, your car just had a big puddle of oil. I laugh at everyone else who works on the aluminum block now because it was a pain in the ass and glad i'm done with it

Haha, i remember doing mine. I had to file off almost a third of an inch to make it spec.

JSALES 02-24-2011 04:21 PM

do any of you guys know if you're still stuck with the same tool box partner next term?

CorneringArtist 02-24-2011 09:06 PM

I didnt leave enough material for the stud extractor on one of the bolts, and wound up just destroying it with the electric drill until most of it was gone.

I think once you finish the block, you laugh at everyone else who does it regardless. JSALES, my class laughed at you guys when you did it LOL.

JSALES 02-25-2011 12:57 PM

^ I guess everyone just laughs at all the other classes haha, we laughed at the motorcycle mechanics class who had to do it and the current class doing it in NE18

Anyone up for a after midterm meet? If so, I'll set something up on the friday march 11th. (Pub most likely)

bcrdukes 02-28-2011 08:33 PM

Just curious - how often do they go around checking whether you've paid for parking or not? I just realized that I forgot to pay for 4 consecutive Mondays. :lol

!oHenry 02-28-2011 08:37 PM

^^ depends. Sometimes if the weathers shitty, the guy will just check one or two and call it a day. Usually, if you park closer to the back, you have a better chance of getting away with not paying. With that said, they do sometimes do a full check.

This is what i learned so far with trial and error. Hopefully this helps

Ahhh don't jinx it lol. I came to school at 1 today found a spot beside a poorly parked accord and didnt pay. No ticket on windshield after 3 hours :woot2:

ajax 02-28-2011 08:46 PM

They did a ticket blitz a couple of weeks ago. Bunch of my classmates got busted, but some got out of them by using another persons #1000 ticket, and calling Impark to clear it.

And then there's dumb pricks in my class who FORGE tickets.

Hondaracer 03-01-2011 02:49 PM

forge tickets?

bcrdukes 03-01-2011 02:52 PM

Well, I have evening classes so I'm wondering what the interval is for parking ticket checks.

Hondaracer 03-01-2011 03:45 PM

i got busted a few times taking night classes for no ticket, and somtimes even incorrect stall number in the back lot where u need to enter a number

Scanned a generic one into their computer and just change the date for each day. It's a #1000,so they just throw it on the dash. Apparently, Impark doesn't check the issuing ticket numbers, just the dates.

Hondaracer 03-01-2011 07:53 PM

great minds think alike i guess

:troll:
