Please let me know when you go through one. I've NEVER been through one and i'm coming up on 12'ish years of skiing/snowboarding up there.

Ever tried predicting the weather? It's impossible, true story bro.

I've been through a roadblock up on my way to Whistler. Mind you, it was a drinking/driving one... :lol They did make sure I had winter tires on before continuing, though... This was New Years eve a few years abck.

If you get stuck or need a tow or worse get in a accident it is going to cost more then four snows.

Cant put a price on piece of mind.

I'm having the hardest time trying to find SORAT with google maps.. I can't find the sign/shop. Can someone help me please?

1exotic 11-14-2010 10:20 PM

google maps street view isn't recent, those pictures are like 10 months old or something.

so even if it doesn't show, it'll be there anyways.

wix 11-14-2010 10:21 PM

Alright, thanks buddy

Also been through one. I've only ever driven up Cypress once too. Good thing I had M+S's on a 4WD.

I was able to get 2 of them off with some WD40 but the other 2 were too stubborn that i gave up so drove it to the local shop to get them swapped. Didn't want to kick or hammer it since it was on a jack. Any idea why it seized like that??

Wheels will oxidize against the rotor top and/or hub. When you had the wheels off, it would've been a good idea to brush some Never Seize on there.

If you ever need to kick a wheel off and you're only using a scissor jack, make sure the wheels are chocked, the parking brake is applied and only one corner is jacked up.

You probably just have cheap friends who can't afford winter tires for their parents vehicle.

we booked for dec 16-19, so unfortunately you'll probably run into us.

i dont get the animosity though; to people not knowledgeable about cars, "all-season" sorta implies winter capability. combined with how the salespeople talk up xdrive/quattro and its easy to make the mistake. at least im asking ahead of time to make sure.

and assuming we are cheap and are still driving parents cars...if thats the case, wouldnt we just get our parents to pay for it? not everyone on this board is still in high school or uni.

anyway, i already ordered pirelli scorpion runflats from sorat, its supposed to come in next week. i just wanted to make sure, before i go in, that im not overreacting to everything in the news

Funny enough, most of my friends have some and they always come scooting by on their ski-doo's after the snow has fallen. In fact, most of my neighbors do it. :lol
