Because you can't 'show off' winter tires. If winter tires have a unmissable gigantic bmw branding on it, then they would get it.

no, where 91 ends at boundary bay in between surrey and delta
ended up taking hwy 10 then king george to get back onto hwy 99...looking at the map it's not as a big of a detour as i intially thought :concentrate:

according to the government, any all season tire with M+S on the tires and more than 4/32 of tread is considered good enough as a winter tire, no need for the mountain snowflake rating anymore, no need to keep chains in your vehicle anymore

Most of the time its because they are too fucking broke. Its like the vancouver guide to being the 30k millionaire.
Lease brand new base model 3 series BMW (must be white)
Rent yaletown shoebox
$600 a week coke habit
Maxed credit cards on designer clothing at holt renfrew
No money for winter tires in the budget

that used to be the case but not anymore, u can have m+s tires as long as they are in good shape and you drive carefully

Shift into Winter: The Inside Scoop on Winter Tires and Chains | TranBC

i sell tires so i've had alot of customers debating.. to the point i've just given up and sell them all seasons and tell them they should hope they dont get turned around or cause a collision

Lomac 11-30-2014 10:30 AM

Frankly, I wouldn't use anything but proper winter tires on most of the Interior highways anyway. Hwy 1/3/5/97 all experience heavy snow dumps at some point during the winter months and even the best snowflake rated tire can have problems getting up some of the hills.

the cold weather finally affected the cars today around my area.

doors/locks frozen shut and street is still a sheet of ice

so i grabbed some grease/oil in a container and wiped it inside the door and around the complete exterior in both mine and the gf's car. oiled up the keys and penetrated the fck out if the keyholes... nice and loose now ;)

i read somewhere that shaving cream works well for windows fogging up, so i gave that a try on the gf's crx as they are notorious for fogging up (will update tomorrow if it worked)

and thru my x-ice setup on her car and salted half my street because the city of surrey didnt give even a single fuck about doing that

So, 10* and rain for the next couple of weeks. I'd take the cold and sun any day.

As a BMW I can say we're too busy trying to pay for all other maintenance on our cars :(
