Someone somewhere recorded me trying to go uphill sideways outside of the Mercedes dealership on the Lougheed S curve. Apart from that, Knight was a complete nightmare but the soft stuff on the side streets is perfect.

So if someone theoretically lived in Richmond and hypothetically wanted some snow drift drone shots, how many parking lots are there which are somewhat low key? Lots of the place that may or may not have been used in the past have cement barriers and fences now

Just come out and say it. You wanna slide in a snow covered parking lot. "Hypothetically" and "theoretically" = :rukidding:

It's like, "Hey, hypothetically, where can one buy cocaine? My friend wants some from Richmond where I may or may not live. But the drug dealer's gotta be legit and no cops are around to catch one buying such said cocaine"

Never been to Sasquatch, but between the 3 local mountains (Cyrpress, Grouse, Seymour), I like them all for slightly different reasons:

Cypress - best runs
Grouse - best view, the Cut
Seymour - cheapest of the 3, unfortunately also like their runs the least

Made it from King Ed and Oak to Richmond in 15mins, Oak Street was fine. But Richmond south of Westminster Hwy is sketchy.

Badhobz 02-23-2018 03:07 PM

Elementary School parking lots...

Had to run errands but walked / took Skytrain.

Near my place, there was an elderly man on his scooter that couldn't tread through the deep snow on the sidewalk. I approached him and asked if he needed help and he said yes.

I ended up pushing him an entire city block and up a slight hill till the sidewalk was clear. I think going to the gym 4 days a week came in useful there. My shoes were caked in snow and I slipped a bit but I made it happen. He was grateful.

Hope it continues to snow some more :fullofwin:

We pulled the drivers off the road around 12:30 I think. Coquitlam was a gong show. A bunch of us (4 of our store employees, a construction worked from Marcon, a pedestrian and one of our customers) helped a lady in a Mercedes who was stuck in the middle of the intersection at Smith and Clarke.

Lady had no idea what she was doing and was running all seasons. I get that something like that is frustrating to other drivers, but just shake your head and move along. No need to hold up traffic swearing at her and telling her to fuck off. Especially when you proceed to drive like a fucking dick afterward and nearly hit a pedestrian. Dumbass.

320icar 02-23-2018 04:23 PM

Wow no ones allowed to be comical on RS anymore? Lol jesus

Badhobz 02-23-2018 04:26 PM

I'll never understand people that spend that much money on a luxury car and can't afford the extra $1000 for snow tires. The one single thing that's keeping their car safely on the road. If you can't afford to buy snow tires then don't drive.

The whole idea of "well it only snows 2 times a year" is complete bullshit, because all it takes is for one car to cause a major accident in this kind of weather.

It's not that they can't afford them.

It's either

A) they just just don't know anything about tires;

B) they try to save money on things they should buy.

For me, $1200 tires is better than possibly crashing my car, totalling it and injuring myself and others.

And winter tires help out even when there is no snow. The compound is softer and grids better in cold weather.

And lastly, most no-season tires are shit in summer as well if you do spirited driving. Better to just have 2 dedicated sets for my 8.

Inside streets are brutal, I pulled over to take a picture of the snow and got stuck lol. RWD + snow tires...wasn't even that thick of snow in Vancouver around 4pm.

Luckily a gentleman pushed me out, thank you, god bless you for the good help.

I only put like 2000km tops a season and I've had the tires for 5 years now, total < 10,000km, but I find that grip is not as great as it once was. The tread life is like 9/11, so plenty remaining. Not sure if my tires are shit now due to age or it's just the weather is too crazy? General Altimax winter setup.

There was an RR that had hit a pole on Kingsway and Boundary right in front of the Telus boot around 12PM earlier today. Airbags deployed, front bumper half ripped off. Didn't see the driver though. Probably hiding around the corner in shame.

Worked like a charm, took me 30 mins to get from North Van to Fraserview. About 20 mins less than usual...

Coworker left at 2:30 and it took him almost 3 hours to get to Edmunds.
