Saw two transformers blow and the remaining areas of Aldergrove go dark. Wish I had my dash cam because no one knows how to use intersections like 4 way stops and I saw an handful of near misses while through Abby. Every restaurant and fast food joint with power has line ups out the door or onto the road. |
Hwy 5 N Exit 192 - Coquhalla River is a dead standstill. A semi jackknifed. I just marked it on waze. It's kinda fucked. We need to loop back to get the subie filled ... https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4046b2e489.jpg Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk |

If anyone else is going out that way, don't take a rwd car LOL. And make sure you figure out how to keep that windshield and wiper blades from freezing up. Probably best to switch to 1 piece winter blades, as we found that the e46 had 14 moving joints that all froze up. EDIT: In hindsight, putting rain-x on your windows might have helped. In Vancouver application, at city speeds, it clears off the water pretty well without wipers. I would assume it would still help clear off water on your windows, which would then prevent the windshield from freezing over. |
Still without power. No hydro crews in sight. I'm guessing Aldergrove is low on the priority list. I'm peacing out to the Island until things are back up and running. |
it was a straight up war zone at my house last night... Fricken freezing rain. https://s10.postimg.org/vbigv8915/26...07054085_n.jpg |
I thought you like residing in Mission :troll: |
Guys, drive carefully. I just got back from visiting my wife at the cemetery and it was a skating rink. Black ice. I have Hakkapelitta’s and still slid a bit. Then this Mercedes SUV just flies down the road. I didn’t bother to check, but she probably drove onto the grass past the sharp curve down the hill. This is at Forest Lawn on Canada Way and Royal Oak. Some people are just stupid. They’re the ones I fear the most in times like today. Stay safe and drive defensively. Stay on main, well traveled, and salted roads whenever/wherever you can and slow down on less traveled, unsalted roads. |

My trucks All-Terrains were fine driving to work, but the work cars Nokian WRG3's were fucking garbage, driving up cariboo hill from gaglardi i was legit scared i was gonna start sliding backward down the hill , i was sliding around that much. Got up to the top and did what you mentioned there, stayed on flat, main roads until the sun came out. Scary shit when your whole car is moving independantly of your steering lol |
