nearly 70 F-15E's performing an elephant walk. An awesome display of US airpower, the entire Canadian Air Force only has 79 F-18 in operation by comparision. IMHO the lastest F-15E varient should be Canada's choice to replace our F-18s.

We'd be lucky to get 40 for a picture like that. :okay:

best place to buy some fighter jet diecast models? looking at approx scale of 1:200.

wanting to add a shelf to my collections room to feature 5-7 top fighter jets:
- f-4
- f-14
- f-15
- f-16
- f-18

and throw in 2 MIGs.

would like diecast prebuilt as I just dont have the patience and skill to assemble model kits anymore lol.

similar to my commercial aircraft shelf as shown here: (scale 1:400 except the concorde)

*** This just came down the pipe. Proud of my dad! ***

On behalf of the National Executive Council and members of the Air Force Association of Canada, I wish to congratulate you on being selected to receive the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. The medal is a visible and tangible way to recognize outstanding Canadians of all ages and from all walks of life, who have built and continue to build this caring society and country through their service and achievements.

The Governor-General’s office asked partnering organizations like the Air Force Association of Canada to nominate a limited number of candidates for this significant award, honoring Her Majesty’s 60 years on the throne. A specifically convened committee screened and ranked hundreds of applications from across Canada, using the selection criteria of recent and significant service to the association’s objectives of Heritage, Youth and Advocacy.

I am pleased to advise you that you were nominated by a serving member of the Association, and that your performance exceeded the standard by which all were judged. Accordingly, we have been asked by the Governor-General to award you this meaningful symbol of recognition for your service to the Patron of the Air Force Association of Canada, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and to our country.

Ah fuck, you start just a couple days after I'm done. My grad is aug 16th and i'm probably flying out the 18th. Depending on when they get you in on the weekend I may possibly see you (Vancouver people tend to come in saturday night).

Technically I am Reg Force but yes, one more year of school and I'm done. Except I just checked my classes and one of them got cancelled so I may have to take one extra semester in the summer to finish everything up. Fuck.

edit: Belka, when did you start working in Cold Lake on the F18's?

ski jump depends on the size of the ac. usually either catapult system is used or ski jump.
if the catapult system breaks during war time...ur screwed, and american air craft had low thrust to weight ratio, so catapult is needed..whereas russian ac, have high thrust,,,,so catapult not needed. ie. mig 29, su family. etc

catapult limits you on how fast ac can get in the air, however its better for heavier planes and payloads.

It's all a matter of how many of them make it to the news.
