imp>dom 02-27-2011 05:37 PM

kyoshiro 02-27-2011 07:07 PM

its cuz theyre having the "meeting" first and stuff, its safe at the moment, kinda i guess. I already switched over to Telus, hate shaw for doing shit behind my back

imp>dom 02-27-2011 07:28 PM

i hear you. thinking about switching over to teksavvy cable cuz they have the best deal but teksavvy runs on shaw's network so i really dont know

TOS'd 02-27-2011 07:53 PM

I wouldn't change anything until something is actually set in stone.

WannabeSi 02-27-2011 08:34 PM

damn you should take advantage. I average about 150 a month. Not as much as some people here :lol

sulos 03-04-2011 11:40 AM

I am with shaw. How do I check my usage?

StylinRed 03-09-2011 05:46 PM

so is it still clear to download ridiculously ?

J____ 03-09-2011 06:12 PM

fuk i dont download ridiculously at all and am using up 330g's a month wtf. mostly video streaming though =(

Mr.HappySilp 03-09-2011 09:30 PM

^^ That will use a lot of bandwidth. Avg 2Hour of HD movie on Netflix is about 4 to 6 GB.

yup

mrks 03-17-2011 10:22 PM

Is anybody using Shaw Warp? Wondering if it's worth getting over extreme.

!MiKrofT 03-17-2011 10:36 PM

I don't think anyone's willing to pay $100 a month for internet.

underscore 03-17-2011 10:40 PM

I'm pretty sure that regardless of how this turns out, I will leave Shaw for TekSavvy, based purely on the bullshit Shaw is/may pull, and how honest TekSavvy seems to be.

!MiKrofT 03-18-2011 12:52 AM

Except that Teksavvy also uses Shaw lines. So there will still be downsides if this goes through.

I'm actually looking at the Shaw bundles. It's only $20 more for Warp.
HD TV + Extreme =$85
HD TV + Warp =$105

I don't mind paying $20 more if I can get 50Mbps and 3Mbps up.
I'm just wondering if anyone has it to see what their speeds are currently like.

After seeing this post I'm not that interested in Teksavvy.

I doubt it'll be much faster for downloads. No matter how fast your connection is you're still dependant on how fast the source is. I think the key point is the additional 75gb of downloading which for $20 is not bad.

for the past few months, i've been using warp

whenever i load up webpages.. the whole page loads at once

for downloads.. give or take

hd tv shows (around 1 gb) - 5 minutes
music albums (around 700 mb) - 2 minutes
blu-ray movies (around 8 gb) - 30 minutes

for the newer packages, $20 is not bad to upgrade. i'm currently paying $97 for the internet alone on the old package

I'm very close to switching over to telus so I'm wondering if shaw started charging yet as of today.
Planning to switch over to telus only when shaw starts charging.
I'm averaging just under 500GB of usage a month.

skholla 04-22-2011 12:36 PM

as per shaw csr's they are currently not doing UBB... now does that mean you can just ignore the bandwidth limit for your internet plan (highspeed/extreme/nitro/warp)???

way2quik 04-25-2011 10:46 AM

It's almost certain shaw will go ahead with per usage billing in late May or June.
