Not sure if this helps, but these are recorded off my iPhone 2 using "Qik Video"
Day time,

Night time, skip the 1st minute, unless you want to see me driving around a parking lot.

What's the point of a 32gb card to store 13 hrs. If you have an accident you should probably pull the data right away anyway right, let alone record for another 13 hrs.

can you loop videos with that software? as in you record over old videos automatically
wonder if there's a car dock out there when once you mount it the cam starts rolling automatically.

For those who are running cams, can you post some reviews or samples?

well if u have 13 hours of storage time, u dont need turn off the cam for another 12 hours after getting an accident on film. better make that 11 hours to be safe

That D-TEG BX1500 is what I call a dash cam. Thing is so small and has GPS (albeit not THAT useful).

At 250 a pop though, it seems like a lot. How much did you end up paying !Tigger?

Nope, you open the app and hit record everytime you want to film. They get stored away in the app which takes up memory from your phone. You can delete any clips you wish from inside the app. To get it on to your computer, you open the app up and hit "Wifi access" and type in the given I.P address (usually your own) on the web browser and you click on which ones you like to download.

i recently bought the blackvue dr400g. it was quite expensive but i think it'll be useful in the long run. it has loop recording features, voice notification (tells you when recording starts, when parking mode starts, etc.), gps, motion detection, collision graph. you can turn the voice thing off too, some people might find it annoying.

it's very small and very very convenient. the accessories that came included were the mount to your windshield (it's very small, even if you leave the camera plugged in, people will not notice it when they walk by. 12volt adapter, i'd say it's about 6 - 8 feet long. 4 wire clip to hold the wire to the windshield (2 more would have been useful). camera and 16gb micro sd card, usb card reader, and a cd software. you can also download an app for android/iphone to view the videos on your phone (from the sd card or from your phone)

the mount and clips uses double tape for your windshield. the bad side about this is if you ever replace your windshield, you'd have to take it off. i'm trying to figure out how i can hard wire it without the clips.

the quality is 720p. you will capture license plate if the image is still. license plate appears blurry in motion but if anything ever happens you can just speak the plate outloud and have it recorded.

there is also a inverter you can buy if you ever plan on leaving it running while parked. it's called powermagic.

i'll post pictures of my set up and some recordings tomorrow.

Gh0stRider 12-11-2011 01:47 PM

when u getting it?

HD 720P Car Camera Review - Part 1 - YouTube

Is this the exact same one as Autolismo is selling as "accident recorder V1"?

RRxtar 12-13-2011 12:00 PM

Looks like it with just a different mount for it. I wonder how well this would work if it was mounted on the dash itself using Velcro or something? I can’t stand having some crap suction cupped to my windshield.

!Tigger 12-13-2011 06:28 PM

So i got it, installed it was $240 shipped to my door, took 1.5 weeks to get here... so far so good took some quick video, and it seems good so far

here is the size of the camera compared to a soda can.

here is a picture of the mount on my windshield, uses double sided tape.

going to tuck the wires under the headliner and down the a pillar and door seal to the center compartment.

here is a video of me driving down clark at night. the camera records in 720p, so don't watch it in 1080p.

the speed thing at the bottom left is inaccurate i think

cost: $301.57 with free shipping, got it at my door in 2 days.

DJ Milk 12-14-2011 05:38 PM

The time also looks incorrect because I don't think it gets that dark at 3:14pm and there's no traffic
