To prevent any sort of excruciating pain from doms, its good to do endurance, 15-20 reps before you move on to doing any sort of strength programs. There are probably sources out there that say otherwise, but to me, this is probably what has worked best. Once you've gotten back into the groove of it, and you neural system is probably better able at recruiting your muscle fibers, it'll be less likely for u to get extremely painful spasms or abrupt connective tissue tears... Again, this is what I have found to be most helpful for me.. it is different for everyone out there..

Proper sleep and nutrition is probably your best bet for recovery.. all u can do is wait it out

This is true, and IMO on any program there should be some light weight work thrown in. Either regularly (have one light day a week) or do a full phase of light weight for a week.

instantneedles 06-12-2012 10:12 PM

Do you guys take BCAA's during workout?

BrRsn 06-12-2012 11:35 PM

^ no bro thats too hardcore for me im just on my first cycle of whey i dont wanna fuck up my liver ..

Spoiler!

Actually I'm looking into taking BCAAs intraworkout (think its called Xtend) .. its a little expensive but itd be great on a cut, worst thing is getting hunger pains during a workout

315 squat today :fuckyea: Most weight i've ever squatted :fuckthatshit: Pretty happy about that ... almost fell forward on the way up though, weak abs?

SkinnyPupp 06-12-2012 11:37 PM

I do but I train fasted.

BTW this probably sounds stupid on a forum, but I just finished the most brutal workout I can recall attempting. Today is single limb day, and the weights are getting up there. About 3/4 way through I wanted so bad to quit, but I toughed through it with the same weight and solid reps and quick motion.

I feel like puking now though

instantneedles 06-12-2012 11:42 PM

^maybe don't train fasted? lol... seriously though, training hardcore on an empty stomach and u askin for trouble

but if its the way u like it, go for the ironman bruh

SkinnyPupp 06-12-2012 11:55 PM

It's kind of like what is appealing to Crossfit a bit. I like the idea of pushing to the absolute limited OCCASIONALLY. But instead of doing stupid shit, the exercises are solid.

Still, next time I do single limb day with these weights (next week) I'll have some carbs for breakfast.

Other than that, fasted is pure win, trust me

Oh and I feel fine now :fuckyea:

The_Situation 06-13-2012 12:21 AM

^
Yeah working out fasted is great and I'm talking bout being a couple months in IF where hunger pains are essentially gone. You feel so energized and "cleansed" I'd say.

instantneedles 06-13-2012 12:28 AM

lol i'd never train fasted, my metabolism would murder me...

strykn 06-13-2012 12:40 AM

im hungry
