Worked out at home. 200 lb sandbag cleans and squats. Need to buy more sand :D

FunF(*&^ing tastic workout today. Really felt I hammered the chest and back today. Plus I added a few extra pounds on the bench. 235 x 3. Not huge, but it's still more weight then i've ever loaded on the bar before ;)

kwy 11-07-2012 08:15 PM

Finally broke my bench PR that I've been stuck at for like 2 weeks..was 190 @ 122ish body weight, hit 210 today. Feels guuud man. Going to the gym at a different time of day made a world of difference.

well it's the only gym i've ever been to, so i have nothing to compare it to. prolly only thing that bothers me is there's only one squat rack. and it gets really packed sometimes (like after 3ish)

So I am doing the JCD Fitness beginners weightlifting routine. Day 1, 2, and 3 are Thursday, Saturday and Monday respectively. I am wondering what would be a good day of the week to incorporate some cardio, core, or yoga? Tuesday/Wednesday are out of the question as I have work and school from 7am to 10pm. I am just not sure what would be a prime day out of the remaining 5 which wouldn't cut into my program.

Well if you are busy with tuesdays and saturdays, you have fridays and sundays left. Just have them during those days since its a beginners weightlifting routine, you probably won't be lifting at too high an intensity to begin with. If you have enough rest, you can even stack it on top of your weightlifting routine on the same day.

Yea, love it there. Been going for 3.5 yrs now.

Always clean, not many people use the racks, and its not super busy at 10 am

for the sports central brahs, the basketball court+squash court+punching bag area is becoming a batting cage apparently.

Sid Vicious 11-08-2012 03:47 PM

don't do cardio unless you're specifically training for a long distance sport.

sprints + plyometrics are almost always superior to traditional cardio

and for people in richmond check out richmond sports club, dope gym.

red_sir 11-08-2012 05:12 PM

Checked out richmond sports club's website, they sound pretty good. Do you know how much membership is for non-students? Site says it's $20 for students and seniors but no mention of reg membership.

ts14 11-08-2012 05:18 PM

Got my ass handed over today....

Bench : 185lbs , 5x3
Close grip bench : 135lbs , 5x3
Deadlifts : 275lbs , 5x3
Calf raises : 135lbs , 5x3

Ugh so tired and sore

Yea, it really is. At first, I used to complain because I couldn't walk more than a few steps without having to get out of the way of someone mopping the floor, or step over a vacuum cord. But I guess it pays off.
