Tangerine has 2% on 3 categories...but I suppose it depends on where you spend your money... |
Still rocking the Capital One Aspire here which for a grand fathered account like mine is a no brainier. Still though for non grand fathered accounts it ain't too bad, yes it has a $150 annual fee but it includes a $400 sign up bonus, 2% straight up across all purchases, and the way you redeem the money is easy peasy with zero restrictions. |

I also read Scotiabank is dealing with all the Canadian Chase accounts now, which must be true because it was a Scotiabank number that called me back to finish the application process. |

:fulloffuck: Tangerine seems to be pretty popular. But is it better than Scotia Momentum Visa Infinite? |

Tangerine has no annual fee, the Scotia does. So it depends. |

I just got the Amazon Chase visa myself and successfully registered on their chase website. I only got a $20 gift card to Amazon when signing up but its pretty rad. Being able to dodge the foreign currency transaction fees was nice and I use Amazon quite a bit. I've always been one to pay off my credit card right away so high interest rates don't get me too worried. I'm a prime member and was debating whether to get the store card too for 5% off compared to chase's 3%......but hmm so many cards :lol |

Currently my CC combos are: Scotia Momentum Visa Infinite ($99 annual fee) for 4% gas/grocery, 2% drug store/recurring bills, got back roughly $500-annual fee last year, purely using this card for gas/grocery/recurring billing only. if u spend a lot on gas, this card is the best choice, but application is also very strict on meeting annual income requirement i read, thought it did not apply to me for some reason lol. anything else its the MBNA Rewards Travel (no annual fee, grandfathered) for 2% everything else |
One thing about credit card is if you bank with the big banks regularly get to know your banker (yes I had also said the same thing about postie).. If you bank enough and get to know the staff at your local branch, a lot of the times the associate you deal with can get your card fee reimbursed so free. |

Plat Biz only give access to Centurion, Plaza Premium, Delta Sky Club, etc lounges. NOT unlimited Priority Pass. The 'annual' fee of PP is paid by Amex, but you will still need to pay $27 USD per entry to any PP lounges. Only the Amex Plat Personal give unlimited PP. |
Depends on how often you travel. BMO World Elite gives 4 PP visits, rewards @ 2% and cost 150 a year or something. Love their concierge, very well trained people. |
hey guys, i have a couple of credit cards, RBC, and they are utter trash. I do not use them regularly and left unused most of the time. I want to try and build my credit, I pay for my cellphone, utility, car finance, insurance etc. Does using my credit card here and there can really boost my credit? dumb question but how much different would it really make if I am already paying bills on the get go edit: i want to apply for amazon.ca visa as well from chase for american purchases in the future, not sure if they need super crazy credit to apply and does the CC work well with europe or just USA? |
If your score is already 800 you can't really "build" much. Get one-time credit reports from Transunion and Equifax, and see where you are at. Keep in mind credit increase over a long period of time and is affected by many factors: - On time payment of debt (credit card, loans, mortgage, utilities bills) - Utilization of the card (% of balance on the card) - Correct profile info (make sure your credit profile is correct between Transunion and Equifax and dispute any discrepancies) - Number of outstanding credit (how many credit cards) - Number of time you get a hard credit check (applying for a new card/loan/mortgage) |

I never really used the PP, I was either traveling in J or accessing Plaza Premium or Sky Clubs :D |
hey guys, applied for visa with amazon.ca , morgan chase where can i check the process of my application? filed it online |
currently use this: https://www.tdcanadatrust.com/produc...ite-card_b.jsp but thinking of switching to: https://www.tdcanadatrust.com/produc...ilege-card.jsp pay about 70% more annual fee, but make 25% more points... and that fast access lineup at the airports lol... mainly for that. I dunno about you guys, joining aeroplan infinite was the best decision i made for credit cards. I've been getting a free round trip to asia every year, for a tiny fee of 120 a year with regular spending. lol. it's a no brainer. |
