where can I find nectarous in the DT area??!! |
Went to Blarney Stone with some buddies last week. Tried some Irish beers they had on tap. - the Kilkenny cream ale tasted like watered down crap; no flavour after sippin' it - second pitcher we got was much better, The Harp lager was quite good. |
Finally got to try the Hikari Imperial Dry from Powell Street/Fuggles and Warlocks. Nice tart flavor, not too sour, quite floral. One of the better Sourweisse beers I have had. |
Anyone know which liquor stores carry trappist beers? |

*Bumping thread Has anyone tried the new Strathcona Brewery on Hastings? Passed by the other day and saw that they're finally open |
Completely forgot about this thread lol I'm curious if anyone has tried the Strathcona Brewery as well. On a side note, while I was on the Island for holidays, I got to try a number of beers by Hoyne. They were awesome. Especially the Pilsner for those hot afternoon patio visits. Their Dark Matter was also very good as well. Now I have to see if I can find them around here in stores. |
Been drinking Bridge's Side Cut a lot lately. |

anyone have any recommendations for a good shandy? fucking miss rickards shandy. |
might be sounding noob here. can't you just pick your own beer and clear pop and pour your own out or am i doing it wrong? i was at the liquor store and picking out some tall cans to try and was pleasantly surprised by finding this guy here, might be my go to beer this summer: http://www.bcliquorstores.com/files/...ger/685594.png |
^ One of my favs for summer time. Easy way to get girls drinking beers with ya also... "Ewwww.. beer! Try it, betcha like it!" |
never usually a fan of beers which has a specific fruit associated with them, but this was really good: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...m.jpg~original |
in that regard i've aways liked St. Ambroise Apricot Ale in the summer https://ayearofbeer.files.wordpress....se-apricot.jpg their pumpkin beer is also not bad |
tried that before and it ain't bad. also tried banana bread beer and quite liked it https://goodfoodgoodbeer.files.wordp...-and-glass.jpg |
ok, now you guys are just getting weird. banana bread beer? da fuq? lolol |
I've had the Banana Bread beer before. The flavour profile isn't as overwhelming as you would expect it to be. I wouldn't seek it out again, but not too bad at all. |
^ yup, i had it just last week, it's starting to overboard but it's a once is enough type thing. |
i tried it a while back just straight out of curiosity. you're right about the flavor profile not being overwhelming i don't know if it was the batch i got or if its always tasted like that but it's barely even close to a banana bread flavor...i was kinda disappointed cus i like banana bread |
Bowen Island Summer Ale has been my goto beach drink this year. Deliciously refreshing! https://cdn.beeradvocate.com/im/beers/225150.jpg |
