I'm planning to try drinking Red Racer ISA, IPA, and Imperial IPA back to back to compare them when I get time. |

What's everyone's favourite IPA? Tree's Hop Head DIPA is my current fav. It's closer to an English than West Coast style. Pine and toffee take the forefront in favor of citrus. Four Winds is pretty much perfect but doesn't have the distinctive character I'd like to see. |
dont really have a paticular one that comes to mind I do feel that the Fat Tug though is among the top BC craft beers being made currently |
I've been into grapefruit beer lately. Try out the Schofferhofer, you can find it a Legacy, $16.25 for 6. http://www.bayareabev.com/images/upl...Grapefruit.jpg |
Looks awesome. Love these beers!!!! |

Besides Fat Tug, I like Lighthouse Switchback, Phillips Amnesiac (now comes in tallboys!), and Hoperation Tripel Cross. I haven't had much experience (i.e. have not drank each of them enough) with the IPAs from the new breweries, but the ones I have tried have all been absolutely solid (Brassneck, Four Winds, Main Street, Powell Street). Though from what I remember they definitely restrain themselves on the hops which is a nice change from the hop-bomb-arms-race breweries had been having two or three years ago. I am not sure exactly which hop gives this flavour, but there is a certain clovey aftertaste that some big Imperial IPA's (Central City comes to mind) and other heavy IPAs, that I find too overpowering after a few sips. |

Does anyone know if Crannog Ales does outside sales ie. bottles/cans? Looking for Back Hand of God. |
unfortunately, they do not bottle or can their product. i commend you on your taste though, they're my favorite brewery in bc. |
Tried this the other night, mainly because I had a chuckle at the name and logo. Then I noticed it was Phillips brewery so gave it a shot. It was pretty darn good. https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8174/7...72cd7293_z.jpg |
At "john B's" tonight in coquitlam I had a "palette killer IPA" lol great name The waitress claimed it had an 140 IBU but I've definately had more bitter beers that were rated around 80-90 |
Drinking Bowen Island Mutiny Red Ale. It's actually not bad at all and costs about 9 bucks for a 6 pack. |

The only qualm I may have with it is that it doesn't have much body and flavour after the initial taste, but perhaps that adds to its refreshment. |
checked out Steel and Oak brewing in New west this past weekend, was super impressed with their beer and their tasting room is quite nice, really nice/informative guys working there as well. Also probably the nicest paddles i've seen locally, they have a friend of theirs CNC all of them and they have a great finger hold on either side as well as kind of an interlocking brick style bottom so they are easy to stack http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...l.jpg~original http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...l.jpg~original http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...h.jpg~original decided to go for the flight for a little breakfast lol. Was impressed with all the beers but the Red Pilsner paticularly stood out, unfortunately couldnt buy a growler in it so i opted for an ESB which was excellent as well the Smoked Hefe was pretty crazy as typically i'm not too crazy for the Hefeweizen's but the nose of the smoke was crazy, it was like you had your face in a camp fire lol If anyone goes and checks it out, and youre into wine, further down the Alley way as well there is the Pacific Breeze winery. Me and my GF have been drinking their wine for about a year now and part of their wine clup, highly recommend their stuff as well. |
Nice, I saw a few pix on Instagram. Good to see them up and running now. |
http://www.thebeerstore.ca/sites/def...?itok=20l7XPvu Pretty much my go-to beer for the whole summer. Damn delicious! |
I'm very curious about Four Winds' Phaedra Belgian Rye IPA. The review on Beer Me BC and the reviews on Beer Advocate are offering pretty serious praise. Furthermore, in contrast to Driftwood's hyped up offerings, it's pretty cheap at $7.50 for a bomber. Anyone try it? or planning on trying it? I think I might have to look for it. |
Got suckered in by those endless YouTube commercials. Picked up a 6-pack of these ... meh. |
