When you can't feel individual keys on a touchscreen device it can be hard to type at speed.

That is why Tactus, a company based in California, has developed technology which can turn a typical flat tablet screen into a real keyboard with bumpy buttons.

The keyboard rises from the tablet when needed, before disappearing when the typing is done.

Micah Yairi from Tactus explained how it works.

Wonder how much thickness that would add. The goal seems (these days) to make everything thinner and thinner. If the lumps were shaped like a letter, or dots like braille, or something, that would be awesome for people with bad vision.

No thanks=p reminds me of when blackberry brought out the first storm eh. The screen that clicks when you push on it.......A for effort.

^Agreed! Too bad that was the only good thing about it. My Bold was a piece of trash. More phones need to be creative with textures and materials though. Sick of all this plastic nowadays.

And phones need to have some weight to it too.
One of my favorite phones feel wise was still the Nokia 8800 Siricco..o man that slider feel and the weight/quality of the phone.
