When's the new 7" Nexus tablet coming out? I wanna get one soon.

!MiKrofT 06-19-2013 02:40 PM

Pretty soon. It's going through FCC filing now apparently. Rumours are snapdragon quadcore 600 and probably 1080p screen.

New Nexus 7 Made by Asus Stops by FCC With LTE on Board (Updated) ? Droid Life

lets hope the new nexus 7 will survive updates
i mean after the N7 went to 4.2.2
it all shit the bed

I've stopped using it

!MiKrofT 06-19-2013 08:27 PM

Weird. Mine's still going strong. Running SlimBean.

spades 06-19-2013 09:19 PM

can anybody recommend a good rom? having been keeping up lately

Mr.HappySilp 06-19-2013 10:33 PM

Seems there is some issue with the wirless on the Nexus when loading vidoes from PPS or Netflix it always lag, no issue on my Note2 using the same wireless network..... anyone having with wireless... I updated ot 4.2.2
EDIT so after using it for a while I can say Nexus 7 is decent but there are some things I don't like about it.
First the battery doesn't seem to last as long as my ipad mini. After a day use the Nexus 7 have about 40% left. With my ipad mini I can use for a good 3 to 4 days before it needs a charge. The Nexus 7 is good for reading but for web surfing or watching videos I still perfer the Ipad mini because the screen is bigger and seems brighter. The Nexus 7 wifi just sucks, I keeps getting disconnected so watching movies is almost unberable. The Nexus 7 feels better since the back is rubber so is easier to pick up. The Nexus 7 have no have back camera and that's a big drawback.

Overall, The nexus 7 is good at the price point but I will say if anyone wants a decent tablet it might be a good idea to pay a little extra for a better tablet with more functions.

Exchange my nexus for a samsung note 8. The screen on the note 8 is a lot better and seems to be more smooth as well. Not to mention there is no wireless. The S-pen functions is pretty useful. Already used it and seems to be really good. There was a sale for the samsung note 10 from Ncix $449 which is very decent.

What cases are you guys using? I've looked online and watched youtube videos and there isn't much to my liking

gars 07-10-2013 09:15 PM

I did a bit of research and I think I'm going to order a Dodo case. It's a little more expensive than the others on the market, but I like the look.

!Yaminashi 07-11-2013 07:59 AM

Are we talking like $40+?

Using this one. Doesn't add that much bulk but it's a pretty standard case.

Depends on how you want to order it. If you're ok with just the black with red interior - Amazon.com has it for $30 with free shipping.

If you want to customize the colour - you'll need to get it directly through their site - where it's $35+ plus shipping. If you sign up for their newsletter and wait a day, you will get a 10% off coupon - but you'll still need to pay for shipping. If you get it shipped to Canada, it's not cheap. I think shipping to the states is $6.

I use this case but in black:

Mr.HappySilp 07-26-2013 08:58 PM

So who is going to get the new N7?
currently using note 8 so I have no intention of getting it but it might be a worthy upgrade over the old N7.

!Yaminashi 07-26-2013 09:08 PM

No intention of getting it right now but we'll see what reviewers say in the coming weeks.
So far I haven't encountered anything my N7 can't handle

!MiKrofT 07-27-2013 01:00 AM

Probably won't be getting it but who who knows. I'm always a sucker for high res screens.

Alatar 07-27-2013 07:27 PM

Already have a TF300T and ipad2. Doubtful that I'll get another tablet anytime soon. But that screen...

I bought 2 of them on Amazon... Going to give one to my dad as present and keep one for myself. The 32GB was sold out so I am forced to get the 16GB. It's being dropshipped to Hong Kong at the moment. That CPU and screen at the price is such a steal.

Gh0stRider 07-28-2013 02:27 PM

bestbuy preorder sold out, FS still available.

they said availability is this tuesday. they trying to beat staples by one day.

Google’s new Nexus 7 tablet is now available for pre-order at big box retailers Best Buy and Future Shop. The only model listed is the 16GB and the price is $249.99, which is similar to competing retailer Staples, but the difference is the availability date. While Staples is expected to have the new 7-inch Android 4.3 tablet available on July 31st, both Best Buy and Future Shop are pegging the “Estimated release date: 07/30/2013.” That’s this coming Tuesday. It also looks like stock will be extremely limited as they “Limit 1 per household.”

RickyTan3 07-28-2013 09:57 PM

Some FS have in stock as of saturday

cdizzle 07-28-2013 10:43 PM

hope they'll release the 32gb sooner...

Graeme S 07-28-2013 10:45 PM

Why bother with 32 gig? 16 Gig plus USB OTG.

shenmecar 07-29-2013 07:07 AM

why bother buying here? states is $20 cheaper and less tax.

JKam 07-29-2013 09:18 AM

I'll wait for what reviewers say but the N7 first gen is still just as snappy for me.

because going to the states to save $50 is a waste of time if the N7 is all you're buying (and if you don't live close to the border)
