Finally got mine, lots of stores just got stock today. Havent turned it on yet, still at work :(

Anyone reading comics on it? Is the text readable without pinch/zoom?

R5x 08-02-2012 12:36 PM

^which stores got stock?

JKam 08-02-2012 12:42 PM

London Drugs should have got them but only 200 total for all 80 stores..

Best Buy Queensborough has one on display + some open box ones. Best Buy SHOULD have gotten their new stock or is getting theirs this week according to the employee I spoke to.

Staples is still insisting that they are out of stock and will only do preorders from now on.

Yeap its definitely readable for me. I'm using ComicRack

Grandmaster TSE 08-02-2012 05:42 PM

i use perfect viewer

JKam 08-02-2012 08:27 PM

I have a lot more space than I expected... Put in about 10 epidodes of DBZ, 50-80 songs, 100+ comics, 200+ books and I still have >8GB available.

So far so good. Much more responsive than my tf101 but Jelly Bean is kind of pissing me off because I'm so used to ICS.

Reading comics with Komik and Perfect Viewer so its actually quite nice. A little small but not bad. Web browsing is the same as comics. A little small but tolerable. I'm not sure if I'll use this over the tf101 or not, gotta play with both for a little while.

In terms of build quality I'd say tf101 > N7 but N7 still feels pretty good.

Anyone have that DODOcase? I see that it just sticks on by an adhesive.. I don't know how I feel about that.

I ended up ordering the Portenzo. It looks to be sturdier and the stand function is better designed.

picking mine up today, any must have apps/games i should download and is it worth it to root the device?

JKam 08-03-2012 01:09 PM

What did everyone buy with their $25 credit? I can't find anything to buy.. I think I might just settle on FF3 and some books.

Lomac 08-03-2012 01:35 PM

I bought a couple of cheap games, an OBD2 blutooth diagnostic app, and the rest (i think close to $18) will probably just be ebooks I don't really feel like physically owning or movie rentals for my gf's kids.

I'm still annoyed that we can't access the Amazon Music app. It means I'm still stuck using my old 3G iPhone and iTunes to reliably buy music. :(

Returned mine today @ best buy lansdowne. Great device but I just don't use it enough to justify the $300 price tag on it.

I bought a navigation app with mine. I'm using mine as a big GPS and entertainment device in the car for road trips.

You guys have to check out Plex.
One of the better media server app I've used.
GUI is beautiful and it's super easy to use.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....android&hl=en

Plex - A Complete Media Solution

Streams movies/tv, music, and pictures from home server/pc.
It also queue up youtube, vimeo videos to watch later.
Now I can watch whatever anywhere anytime and don't have to worry about running out of storage space.
