Looks like the 16gb might be discontinued for a 32gb version.

GLOW 10-12-2012 07:15 AM

does that mean that the 32gb version will be priced at the 16gb version?

trd2343 10-13-2012 03:58 PM

Are there any Chinese handwriting app/keyboard for the Nexus 7? I tried looking for one and only found pinyin/stroke inputs, but not handwrite.

EmperorIS 10-14-2012 04:58 PM

I just bought a 16gb for $200+tax to try out

how are u guys liking this tablet in mind that ipad mini and windows tab coming out ?
do you guys wish you have a bigger screen? 10 ?

!MiKrofT 10-14-2012 05:53 PM

Windows RT will have limited support to begin with. I'd probably wait a year and see. iPad Mini is just a smaller iPad. I have no interest in how closed the OS is.

7" is a good size if you plan to read alot. It's light enough and large enough without being too large. I have a 10" and its kinda hard to read with.

!MiKrofT 10-20-2012 10:15 PM

Seems that the 32gb Nexus 7 will be the same price as the discontinued 16GB. Someone was able to pick one up at $249 at Staples US. Official release is the 29th.

BaoTurbo 10-20-2012 10:38 PM

I would advise you guys not to buy it yet. 32GB Nexus 7 will be the same price as 16GB, which means the remaining 16GB will be significantly cheaper. Along with that the iPad Mini is coming out as well which can be another competitor to the Nexus 7. Moreover Microsoft Surface is also coming out before Christmas as well to reach the holiday season buying market. I actually really like the Nexus 7, and I might actually buy it, but I'm just suggesting you guys wait a little longer because chances are prices are going to drop and you will have some more time then to decide and buy.

!MiKrofT 10-21-2012 01:47 AM

Yeah but ppl that are interested in the 32gb want the extra storage regardless of what the 16gb will be sold at.

Surface isn't 7" so not a comparison and users on this thread probably wouldn't be interested in the ipad mini.

EmperorIS 10-21-2012 04:17 AM

if the 16gb is going to be dropped to the $199 price.. i'd rather have the 16gb .. don't see the need for 32gb

The nexus 7 pricepoint is already being sold at cost (according to Google that is).

Don't see it being much lower.

You might not but I think a lot of ppl would opt for 32gb. If I were travelling or consuming lots of media I'd want the 32gb.

cctw 10-21-2012 02:04 PM

dang now us 16gb owners are getting jipped

Gh0stRider 10-21-2012 02:45 PM

waiting for nexus 10

BaoTurbo 10-21-2012 03:32 PM

Yea there's a lot of personal pref. Everyone is different and I think the Nexus 7 is sold at cost with a little more for profit when a friend told me people online took it apart. Won't hurt to wait a little bit and see :) I've been constantly checking NCIX and hoping that the Nexus will go on sale one day....hopefully...soon... lol

Won't be this year. Probably Spring or Summer of next year.

google event on oct 29.

the will announce the nexus 10

Google recently declared that “the playground is open” and will be announcing some new Android enhancements and products on October 29th. It’s widely assumed that we’ll see a new Nexus device, possibly the LG Nexus 4. However, a new post by The Next Web reportedly gives all the details of what we can expect.

First, let’s talk about tablets. Google will unveil the 32GB version of the Nexus 7 tablet, plus also introduce a 32GB HSPA+ model – this was a one time rumour. No word on pricing for the HSPA+, but we reported earlier this week that the 32GB version will be priced at $269 (CDN) outright. Next is the rumoured 10-inch Nexus tablet that will be produced by Samsung and Google. The report indicated that this is true, currently going by the codename of “Codename Manta,” but might be called the “Nexus 10″ when it’s officially launched. Probably the best news is that the Samsung/Google Nexus tablet will come with OS 4.2 “Key Lime Pie” and will have a 10-inch display with a resolution of 2560 × 1600.

Next, the new Nexus smartphone. The leaks have been 100% correct. LG will produce the “Nexus 4″ and launch with the following specs: 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 768, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage (previous reports pointed towards 8GB), 8MP and 1.3MP front-facing, and a 2,100mAh battery, plus will also have Android OS 4.2.

OS 4.2 will reportedly have “Content in the center” that will give you the ability to access the Play Store via a widget. In addition, we’ll see ‘Tablet Sharing’ that will give the option of easily switching between users. In addition, Key Lime Pie will also “compete with Apple’s iOS 6″ and support panoramic camera settings in both horizontal and vertical settings by default.

All in all, pretty exciting stuff coming this week. New Nexus 7 tablets, new Nexus smartphones and possibly a new version of the OS (again).
