N10 produced by Samsung and Google?

I personally don't really like Samsung's track record with tablets. I thought they were all shit... I really hope that the N10 is being produced by Asus...

I haven't seen any problems with Samsung tablets...So I don't see an issue as to why they are shit?

No problems, more like build quality perception. They felt really flimsy and made of cheap plastic. I also didn't like how the galaxy 2 wasn't an upgrade to the galaxy 1. I also don't like how long it takes to release updates compared to Asus.

This is just my opinion but I don't really like the new wave of Samsung products. They all feel cheap.

I'm also an Asus fanboy so take my opinions with a grain of salt haha.

Graeme S 10-22-2012 11:32 AM

The Samsungs I've owned haven't felt flimsy, but plastic-y, sure. My Gnex feels wonderful though (admittedly I case it 'cause I don't like how thin and easy-to-drop it is). The GS2 was an upgrade to the Galaxy S 1, but it was possibly not the best hardware optimization. The later iterations (S2X/Hercules, S2HD) sucked less. And then there's the GS3 which is very nice and shiny.

And as far as updates go, every OE pretty much licks donkey balls as far as that goes. That's why you buy a Nexus so you don't have to wait for the lameass OEs to get off their asses. I got the Jellybean update the day it was announced--how's that for release delays?

!MiKrofT 10-22-2012 01:02 PM

^ I totally agree. All the Samsung phones I've owned yes they're plasticy but in no way are they flimsy. Every manufacturer is guilty of releasing a new device that isn't much of an upgrade from the previous.

This is a Nexus device so updates should come directly from Google and not Samsung.

Planning on purchasing a tablet for school soon, most likely the Nexus 7.
I hate carrying my super bulky 6lb laptop around

I'm going to wait until the 32gb version comes out :fullofwin:

BaoTurbo 10-23-2012 07:19 PM

iPad mini has been revealed. People who are open to any brand like me who go after hardware more than being a brand fan, getting the nexus 32gb is better than iPad mini. Other than bigger screen and camera, it's the only thing that's going to be an upgrade. Everything else nexus 7 can beat like resolution, CPU, google voice etc. just a friendly share

In my opinion it's hard to justify spending an additional $129 on the iPad mini assuming the current 16GB N7 will have it's price reduced to $199.
For 65% less, the N7 offers way more "bang for the buck" than the iPad mini

The specs of the N7 triumph compared to the iPad mini on paper and with the N7s amazing track record so far I wouldn't see why any would hesitate to get one over the latter

16gb price drops are appearing in UK already. Ranging from $20-$30 off.

That charger port looks awfully big too. I thought Nexus devices are all going to be microUSB?

*edit

Looks like I was wrong... There is a manual in there haha. I still think it's fake though...

Gh0stRider 10-25-2012 02:34 PM

maybe its called a quick start guide, not manual.

can someone who has experience with both the android and ios tablet ecosystem comment on the apps tailored for tablets for each OS? almost every review I read, including ones about the Surface, puts the ipad ahead because of this. I had a nook color and I rooted it and sold it in a week, just curious as to what I'm missing as a nexus 7/10 w/ 3G sounds tempting.

JKam 10-26-2012 09:21 AM

iOS apps are no doubt more plentiful and generally better quality HOWEVER I feel that with android apps there's MORE you can do.

iOS there's lots of games, and some of them are very high quality but I don't play games... There's also a bunch of apps for kids that are better, like colouring books. I don't like iOS because I have to deal with itunes and it's just a pain in the ass for me to load up my comics and books..

Android seems more versatile for me. Lots of specialized apps but sometimes the quality isn't there... I like it more because I don't have to go through iTunes for everything.

This is my suggestion..
If you have Apple products, stay with apple.
If you have Android prodcuts, stay with Android.

It makes it more easier and compatiblity when transfer documents and what not..

Android Tablet Ecosystem sucks
sorry...it needs to get better sooner rather than later.

Just an honest opinion

BaoTurbo 10-26-2012 10:46 PM

I was working today and I was looking at the Surface at Oakridge. The PC tablet idea is good, but the tablet is still in its early stages. I saw some lagging on the switching between screens while the demo person was showing me it. Probably lots of bugs and glitches still and trying to push the Surface on the market before Christmas.

More the reason for me to get the N7 rather than other Mini tablets. But I hear rumours its best to wait until after Oct 29th so that everything will all be out on the market before Christmas
