I use VLC player

valent|n0 12-10-2012 11:44 PM

Any store carry the 3g version other than play store?

joquio 12-11-2012 04:28 PM

Had to reset my home screen for some stupid reason so I thought it's a nice chance to change things up.

Still have to change the icons to use one of the icon packs I have.

I downloaded the VLC beta player or something. Won't run movie torrents I torrented before

Try MX Player. It is not a beta... and I think it works better right now than the VLC. More optimized at least.

BaoTurbo 12-12-2012 05:14 PM

Will do. Thanks

StylinRed 12-16-2012 06:29 PM

so its been out for a little bit now, would you guys recommend a nexus 7 tablet?

thinking about ordering one right now as a present

or should i try and get an ipad mini to give?

Teh Doucher 12-16-2012 07:36 PM

hell yes! much more capable than an ipad. but in the end, it depends on who you're giving it too.

StylinRed 12-16-2012 07:55 PM

that's what i was thinking too

they currently use an android phone as well

but im also thinking "wont it just be the same as their phone? just a couple inches bigger screen"
thought myabe an ipad would be an interesting change of pace

Also depends what size they're looking for. Found that my iPad wasn't the most practical for sitting around between classes and browsing (its kind of tough to type with 2 hands holding it in portrait). So downgraded to a Nexus 7. :D

StylinRed 12-16-2012 11:18 PM

tried locating an ipad mini online but even if i order from the states it wouldnt arrive until after xmas

so i went ahead with a nexus 7 purchase, hopefully it arrives before xmas lol

saveth 12-17-2012 10:04 AM

I bought a nexus 7 on Saturday from London drugs. They're not hard to find.

I am currently running the PS3 Media Server on my desktop, and I can stream media to my PS3 (obviously) and iPad with AirPlayer app, but I can't find an AirPlayer equivalent for android? Anyone know of one?

How is the nexus 7 for textbooks though? I use my ipad for textbooks as well as for doing some math assignments which are online and worried the nexus 7 would be a little too small

StylinRed 12-17-2012 05:02 PM

thanks for the info guys!

i got my tracking info from google and the expected delivery date is christmas eve so i guess thats not bad

i may just pick one up locally just in case it doesn't show

valent|n0 12-18-2012 03:50 PM

Dude where did u get that background picture? I dunno why but it think it looks pretty cool.

ShadowBun 12-20-2012 11:28 AM

Guys
Need some help here
Should I get a 16gb model for $160 or a 32gb one for $230?
The 16gb one is open box whereas the 32 is brand new

BaoTurbo 12-20-2012 12:19 PM

32GB. Good for movies. Me and le gf watched a couple movies on the Nexus I downloaded in blueray rips. Crisp clean screen. Good size for 2 cuddled together :).

Also had a look at the books in the play store, good backlight and text quality.
