I just use a PlayBook sleeve when I'm carrying it in my bag so it doesn't get scratched up. Don't think the chance of me dropping it will be very high as I won't be using it while walking around (unlike my phone).

Do any of you use one with a bluetooth keyboard to type documents/take notes? If so, could you describe your experience (e.g. do you find the screen a bit small for this purpose etc.)? I've been contemplating whether or not it's worth my money to buy Nexus 7 + bluetooth keyboard + case stand as a document writing/note taking substitution for a laptop.

My laptop plan is to either save up and buy one of the next-gen ultrabooks, or wait until those come out and buy one of the current ultrabooks at hopefully a cheaper price.

my gf does that. N7 + logitech keyboard. No complaints from her.

She types up the notes on Evernote and then when she gets home, moves it from Evernote to Word.

what media player app are you guys using for audio/video on local storage? any one in particular that i won't have to worry about certain types of files not being supported?

I'm using Google Play Music app for my songs and MX Player for videos. So far haven't run into any problems regarding format playback.
