OS optimization is the key.

You can have a phone with crazy specs but if the OS sucks it doesn't mean anything.

as you can see with apple they dont need a shit lot of amazing hardware underneath the hood to have their phone run fluid. They dont need things like quad core 2.5 ghz processors and what not run an OS/phone. As StevenDuang says its not all about the specs OS that optimizes the specs is what is most..

Not that they're necessarily skimping on hardware specs either. There's not a lot known about the A6 still, seeing as it's a custom chip, but at least the GPU's known to be extremely powerful.

But in the end, we can at least expect them to know how to use the hardware in the most efficient way, unlike ASUS. Jesus the Transformer Prime's OS is a disappointment.

P.S. Does anyone know if Fido dealers will have any stock that's not pre-ordered on Friday? Someone had told me weeks ago that they'd hold onto one for me on release, but they bailed so time to start hunting...

i think the point is more about apple could easily come up with something higher spec or more current spec with others on the market and make the iphone run super crazy fast.. but instead they choose to give it a minor upgrade each time and calling it the latest and greatest even though it's a minor upgrade lol.. i want to see what an iphone can do running a quad core processor with 2gb ram...

most store will hold all their stocks for new activations only.. best place to get one if you are thinking of renewing or something.. go to apple store

I would like to see that too as well put in as much futureristic shit as possible all the latest and greatest hardware. I would think they would have to change the design of the phone to implement this since quad core plus LTE would suck up battery like a bitch.

meh i could care less as long as they make it bigger and optimize the OS to perform it to use less battery hopefully like they did with the new Iphone5 and the A6 processor

Reading pocket-lints review I had a feeling about the black iPhone...

Ditching the glass back and reducing the thickness of the glass panel on the front has affected the design of the metal band around the edge of the iPhone. It is now chamfered and while that looks pretty, we've already noticed that on the black model the edge has started to wear, revealing the shiny silver aluminium metal underneath the "slate" coloured coating and, indeed, we've witnessed it on two separate models, ruling out a fluke manufacturing error.

These small scuffs will catch the light and make the phone look visibly worn. We suspect that it won't be as noticeable on the white model because the metal edging is silver, so that's worth bearing in mind when you come to order your colour choice.

I kinda like the construction of my 4S, sure the glass can break but I've used the phone naked since I've gotten it and there's not a scratch on it yet.

That's the thing about designing for looks over durability. My HTC is like that too... a beautiful aluminum unibody frame, but now it looks like shit with chips and wear marks everywhere. Some people put covers or rubberized coatings, but that just makes it look like shit immediately instead of after months of use (and adds weight and bulk)

The thing about the 'cheap' plastic used by Samsung is that it is durable - it looks pretty much the same after a year of use, and if not you can just replace the plastic.

LOL @ Apple fan boy comment, I have the S3,Nexus,S2,HTC ONE X and it just doesn't impress me that much. I like how optimized my iPhone is for what I use the phone for. My S3 and HTC ONE X is the Quad core version but I can tell you that the HTC ONE X is way better than S3; touchwiz is fucking stupid and slow.

is anyone going to get one of these? i just put $20 down for the preorder, but i'm concerned that the price does not include the custom engraving although the description on the site is very vague

i imagine if you want one of their cases with artwork on it its going to cost $20 more (like their Iphone4S case) and that's why they're giving a $20 discount

and if you wanted custom artwork it will be $50 more

I've always been a fan of their cases and wanted to get an iphone just to use the case :lol so no I haven't ordered since I dont use an iphone

But I did get one of their ipad2 cases as a gift before, they're great

that wood case looks absolutely retarded, why would anyone get that

its bamboo but im always a fan of wood/leather being incorporated into tech/jewellery/etc (where you dont normally see it used) looks great imo :)
