Yeah but thats where all the extra phones went so some people ended up getting a phone for the launch date.

yeah same bro! Theres a way to see if your phone has been shipped by going to ups.ca but I cant figure it out fuck!

I believe the tracking #'s aren't working yet, check tonight and there should be updated info on UPS.

From past experience when I get the iPhone from a carrier, it would ship with UPS and you could use your phone number as a reference tracking number. When I buy it from apple online, it will ship with FedEx and most time I don't get a tracking number until a day or 2 before it arrives.

^^shiiieeet thanks bra I was trying to use my phone number as the reference using ups. But since I ordered it throught apple.ca I guess it's being sent through FedEx thanks for clearing that up! No the wait continues haha...

Yup, Fido is UPS because I received the UPS tracking # but there's no updates because I assume the phone hasn't been picked up and scanned yet. I think some of the Apple phones are also been shipped via UPS but I guess they're using FedEx as well.

Back when the iPhone 4 came out, I tracked my order using yahoo since it was more detailed then using the actual courier's website. You can see when it enter or exit the ramp on the plane etc. One phone I ordered from Apple didn't have any details on the FedEx website till it was actually delivered but I was able to track every detail on yahoo. I'm not sure if it's still as detailed as before since I don't have a tracking number to use but here is the link to the yahoo tracking shipping.

Reviews coming in. Engadget did two benchmarks, Geekbench and Sunspider.

They got 1628 on Geekbench and it showed a dual core at 1.05GHz.

However Sunspider was more impressive coming in at 924ms.

IMO Meaningless numbers since the OS running is different. In the end is all about perception. Fast clock speeds mean nothing if the software is laggy, or even worse if the battery life sucks.

Not meaningless at all. Apple claimed the 5 was 2X faster than the 4S. People were bitching saying it's too vague. 2X faster at what? Loading web pages, booting up, launching Apps, taking pictures? The benchmarks are showing they were being slightly conservative as it's about 2.2-2.5x faster on tests run so far. So it's tangible proof that Apple wasn't lying.

In reading over the reviews comparing the 4S to the 5 in terms of speed I've heard terms like "it feels zipper", "speedier", "smoother" and one reviewer who called the speed increase "barely noticeable". Clearly one of these reviewers is lying, but how would you know without hard data on how it performs compared to the 4S?

It's also highly useful information for App developers who might have ideas that are now feasible to consider based on the performance increase. Especially game developers who no doubt are awaiting the graphics benchmarks (for the ones who didn't get early access to the A6).


I don't buy my phones based on GHz or specs, but that doesn't mean I'm not interested in what's under the hood.

Apple advertising gimmick is all base on speculation and personal opinion/preferences.

A6 Twice as fast as the A5

And all the specs given are in percentages making it seem more appealing when really it's only 1.7mm thinner, 28g lighter, and they don't even state that it's 8mm taller.

One thing they are right is that the chip is two times faster, making the iphone 5 1ghz of ram from 512mhz. The CPU however is only a 200mhz increase.

They also advertised the two times faster when they announced the 4s when in fact, it's the same spec from iphone 4. Placebo?
