^^ Apple has issues keeping up with demand as well. They're just more streamlined (and not to mention more mature than Google in the retail department) so that they're able to minimize the wait to a few weeks at most. That's part of the reason for a staggered release starting with NA, Europe, then Asia.


It's not out of their character to do that. Remember when GMail was invite only? And back when there was an actual buzz surrounding Google+ and it being invite only. I guess in their eyes any press is good press.

As for previous Nexus launches, only the N1 was sold direct from Google. And even in Canada, we were late to that party and didn't have much time before they axed that program. What surprises me is that they didn't foresee the demand giving the pricing structure they set out.

It would've been so much easier for them to have the Apple pre-order system, and just fulfill orders in a queue.

I actually think they didn't do that much advertising for the nexus 4 because when I told my friends I'm getting my new phone for 350 a lot of them were surprised and wanted to get one too, but only to find that it's heavily back ordered.

Honestly it feels like they're fulfilling 10 canadian orders a day and saying "good enough." Especially when the Americans are promised 2 day shipping and are able to order again after their first and STILL get it before us.

From what I've seen of the bumper, and having used the Ringke case all day today, I can honestly say that I'm liking the Ringke case now. The fingerprinting no longer seems to be an issue as the case doesn't seem to be marking up anymore. It actually just looks matte again.

As far as fit, the sides are still firmly held on/in, and the case adds no perceptible thickness.

I am curious to see what the Nillken leather flap cover case will be like, and which I'll like more, but the fit issues don't seem to bother me since I'm not typically staring at the extreme details of the edges.

Wow, I'm so glad I didn't get mine through the Canadian store. My second order of the 16GB model arrived 2 weeks ago. I can't believe the Canadian orders from the first batch are still waiting to arrive...

I was stoked about this phone, but I've been checking back on the site every day, and it's still sold out. Combined with all the nightmares about shipping, and the assholes who buy them all up in order to resell them on CL for twice the cost...the buzz is gone and now it's just annoying.
